just now cant start my bike. scare me. i 1 whole day nvr ride le. den i kick start den awhile only den the engine will die off even when i try to throttle.

 

but after a few more tries den ok le. izzit the engine is cold?

 

u gt pull choke ?

no lei. nvr turn on choke. dat means if nxt time similar ting happen must turn on choke? how to turn on? izzit just pull the choke ting den is turn on le? lol.

 

I dunno about Sg condition with this bike, but when ever I do it down here, it's a must to pull the choke, too cold weather. The choke is to allow more fuel into the carb.

Also refrain from turning the throttle when your bike can't start easily because this will only add more air into the engine which makes it harder to start.

My bike required the choke if park more then 5hrs in multi storey CP

I always say @%!@^!@$#$ when I can't start... so I pull choke & @##@^@^@ and it always work... untill tat day when my CDI spoil...

sypxcandy : hi .. my bike smtimes oso lyk tat .. highest record is 5days nvr touch my bike .. wif canvas on .. can start straight away .. but die a few secs ltr .. wat i do is pull choke .. start liao throttle abit .. let it idle, then throttle bit by bit .. then u will notice engine sound lyk getting faster n faster .. then ok liaoz .. plz correct mi if im wrong ^^

how to know when the cdi spoilt ?

 

when u can't start & u assure it's not the spark plug & piston issue...

CDI is for starting & throttle valve control system.. if i am not wrong..

nothing happen actually... the bike died while riding & can't start.. thought i so sway kena piston jam.... then can't start liao...

 

then change a new cdi $295 :(

hi. oic. ya mine same as u die after few secs. but i didnt know must pull choke so just now i all along nvr pull choke de. den i kick start till very fed up. den after a few tries ok le. ya den the engine sound will back to normal after awhile and few throttling. scare me i tot wat happen. lucky not big problem. :cheeky:

5 hrs eh... normally one kick start will work for a few second is because there is still some fuel left in carb or cylinder. Your multi storey car park encounter alot of wind? Unable to have an easy start might also be due to piston compression, so you might wan to have that check too.

so expensive ar. heard ppl say sp piston jam the rear wheel will lock de ar and if nvr clutch in fast, the bike will skid? like very scary lei cos imagine travelling very fast. :sian:

hmmm... mayb I'll get that check.. but doesn't that required a overhaul if we open up the block?

 

Haha this month i am in some financial crisis.... :(

I wanna change my sprocket but no $$$ even..

at least the bike can start so I doubt it will be much problem.. so I'll just use my choke for now :lol:

CDI is for starting & throttle valve control system.. if i am not wrong..

 

If I'm not wrong CDI is to give the current to your spark plug to start the engine, without CDI or CDI spoil, means no current to create the spark and therefore can't start the engine running. Nothing to do with valve and cylinder. To check your CDI working or not or maybe put it in a easier way, to check the wiring of your bike, just remove the spark plug with the cable attach to it, place the tip near to any grounding area on your bike and kick start to see any spark produce by the plug or not.
