Yar I know.. I more particular about sound, but not particular about speed, especially for small bikes. No point lar.. No matter how much you do up, 1 class 2a or 2 zoom pass you you also LPPL..

Hello Everyone! Nice forum! Would like to know how to increase idling speed of an NSR150. I am currently owning a NSR150, and my idling speed is 0.9. I am experiencing dying of my engine at junctions and would like to increase to 1.1. But I have no idea how to do it. Any other solutions welcome too! By the way I am using stock parts..any way to make to more fuel saving? Thanks in advance.

i think normal idling speed for SP is around 1.3 if i'm not wrong.. So 0.9 is too low n will dying easily. I think the place to increase it is the white 'screw' near Carb there.. Start de bike n turn a little bit to see de effect. Correct me if i'm wrong cuz noob too..

Fuel saving? Dun think 2T bike FC can save much. Just dun whack it too often.. But must must whack it once a week cuz decarb de smoke. If not, save the fuel money but have to pay Summon for 'smoking in public area'..

 

Btw, anyone knows where to get cheap motorbike cover? For rainny season recently.. Water always get inside fuel tank. and how much does it cost? THANKS..

By the way I have a brand new cover for nsr 150. I am not using it because I have an unsightly box mounted on the back of my bike. ugly, but nonetheless practical. are u interested in having it? By the way pls elaborate more on the de-carbing procedure. The rationale, as well as the duration of the process. Thanks again =) By the way which is the cheapest insurance for motorcycle now?

Can u quote me the price if u dun mind. Just wanna noe roughly how much it is. I'm thinking of putting a box cuz it's convenient. but not so nice looking.. lolx.. Carb is placed under the fuel tank. U can see the switch from the right side of ur bike. If there's something not going right, just stop doing it cuz i noob on SP. lolx..

Decarb mostly they describe on exhaust for lot smoking block inside the pipe n need to throttle much to push the smoke out if i'm not wrong. But for wat i noe is, decarb is to clean the dirt in block and piston. May describe it as servicing. Detail i not really sure.. Must Qing Jiao those SP experts here..lolx..

Insurance.. I'm going to renew mine this month. Heard from my fren who is a Vicom inspection officer at Tuas, AXA is cheapest cuz it's a China company. NTUC is more expensive than it but far efficiency than AXA if u get into accident or anything else or wanna make some claims and etc.... touch wood..

The head of the knob to adjust the idling speed is yellow in colour, and is located at the right side of the bike, just below the petrol tank. There is a small opening in between the tank and the frame, so you can try taking a peek inside to locate it. Too bad I'm at work now if not I can take a picture of it for you...

Adjusting of the idling speed can be done in a few seconds, not 5 mins! You can strip the petrol tank plus side fairings in under 5 mins! Lol.... Sometimes I also adjust the idling speed at junctions while waiting for the light to turn green...

Get a mech to tune for u ... But if u whack ur bike, there's a higher chance of piston jam ... Well if u wanna ride a sportbike, prepare for a higher FC bah ...

Err.. Newbie to SP society. Just got mine 3 weeks ish ago. Hope u experienced riders can help with my noob questions :S

 

1) Which shop sells SP parts? My mech said my rear brake pump got to change. Said when he tested it if press to hard it may jam. Best to change. Pref looking for shop in the east.

 

2)Which disc lock recommended for SP? and where to get it.(decent one can rdy, quite broke liao)

 

3)Stupid fella at vicom say my IU unit expire must change. Is it worth getting the new one? Read forum they say 2nd hand one $70 but no warranty. new one $155 but got 5 years warranty.

 

4) How to do basic conering O,o Everytime i enter corner is either slow down and turn through then throttle Or go on the inside then let centrifugal force push me out a bit while tapping brake lightly.

for ur 3rd question... 155 is for the new slim iu leh., not the old one.. so ok la...

 

4th... when u corner u have to know how sharp it is..

for example, if ur corner is juz normal c, n u r not familiar, try closing throttle alittle b4 entering the corner, den upon turning, u open throttle again.

if u fast b4 entering den drop one gear b4 turning lo... n maintain the thottle while at the high rpms.. =)
