Hahaha true. I felt that that kind of petrol cannot save. No point set very lean settings, idling v low to save petrol, only to stall all the time when at traffic junctions, as its damn hazardous to keep stalling at junctions. (My feel is that if you want to save alot of petrol, SP not the bike for you.) Ever since i changed my settings, i no longer have this prob, yet. Its still way too early to say. But so far, no probs alr heh

Sian. My block and piston need to change. Hais. But what to do, alr part of SP family and i like the bike feeling and handling not to mention its performance. Hah. Just changed to new tyre and new rear brake pad. This one costs me $203. Tyre using Battlax F/R. Anyone using Battlax here?

do note some riders get 300km per full tank whilst others may get only 120km per tank. so it varies.

Cos if say base on 10.5l per full tank according to owners manual, and ur bike previously gets 300km and decreasing 5-10km per litre u still get ard 190-240+. Which is consider decent to others.

Hey,i got a weird sound coming from my nsr sp.

The sound is like "tocking" sound coming from the front part of ma bike.its like the wheel area...when free wheeling coming to a stop i can hear it.

i off the engine,push the bike..and listen for it...its nt coming from the engine...its coming from the tyre area...

i guess its the wheel bearing..but im not sure therefore ani experience soul out here got any suggestion?

i dntwana go js wack dwn to bike shop even the one i always go to,coz nv noe they always anihw wack this tt spoil all..

if anione got ani idea bout this can kindly PM me coz i rarely check this post out here and bz wit n.s..

see whether is ur chain loose. if it is it could be the chain hitting the metal bracket thingy inside the front sprocket cover.

it could be like u said the wheel bearings. if its the rear wheel then it will be pricier to replace than the front.

see whether is ur chain loose. if it is it could be the chain hitting the metal bracket thingy inside the front sprocket cover.

I'm overhauling mine at HL Cycle at Kakit Bukit(Autobay) now. No idea of workmanship but i trust them. One of the mechanic seems very knowledgeable. Im a new guy so im not sure. But it does cost me $650 for a 2nd hand block + brand new piston + decarbonize pipe + smth else, forget le.

Not too sure about the largest, but my front i put 80/90 i think. Rear should be 100/80. I cant rmbr, ytd change, was very hectic day so i didnt rmbr it clearly. I changed F and R together

get a second hand block and give to mechanic to fix is better but send for polishing first if needed.

plus, decarbonize pipe in jb is only about 25 sing dollars.

Haha not yet got the skills to ride to JB yet. haha. need more road experience mind breaking down agar how much each service/workmanship will cost? Btw mine also include full servicing

firstly why u wanna change block and piston? yours seize meh?

if not just change piston la.

 

as far as i can remember opening up block to service blockhead, polish piston head etc about 80~90 dollars. including coolent.

u want go decarbonize pipe in jb pm me. might be going down on monday night or tuesday night.

Mechanic told me porting was done wrongly in the block. Piston ring jammed into piston (I did feel the piston ring, cant move at all. Only the upper ring is able to turn on the groove). The jamming was due to the porting that was done wrongly. Some edges of the port the metal came off too(looks abnormal, like a cavitation). I asked mechanic if can just change piston anot, he say no point my wrongly ported block will cause my piston ring to jam again. My cousin have changed the piston or piston ring before and that's like done only a few months ago. Cant possibly jam so fast again. I asked around if a wrongly ported block can result in piston ring jamming and leading to engine seizures, the answers are all positive.

 

As far as i know, a wrongly ported block = the block alr CMI liao as its irreversible. From what i have found, a porting isn't done just shallowy(just near the surface). Basically its the same diameter throughout as if its done shallowing it will result in air turbulance = 2 stroke power affected. So if porting alr done wrongly, no matter how i polish also no use. That's what i understand so far, pardon me if im wrong as im still new.

 

Anyway thanks for your offer bro, but my bike alr left at HL Cycle. Shall leave it to them lor. Anyway is anyone selling any kick starter? Mine needs a new one.
