We booked the scooter based on machine price, therefore, we can get our own COE. Can get the dealer do so but later they have to do a double transfer to your name.

As for me, I'd retained my previous ride no. plate, therefore, I have to get my own COE else I'll need to pay additional $1200 for transfer of the no. plate.

No, I haven't get my COE yet cos the dealer still cannot confirmed the delivery date. My friend had got his in April's 1st bidding.

my dad also wants to book one 200cc + wants to do the COE by himself, any advise? Will mah ku-to(carrot) people?

Car wax will provide a thin protective coat but it might accumulate over repeat application. Therefore, I'll prefer the tub type so when apply, will polish away the old coat.

When I get my new ride, I'll immediately wax it first.

Meguire Plas-x actually is a polisher for Acrylic head lamp. It is good for polish blur acrylic material. If the screen still clear, do not need to use it. Just wax, pledge, plexus it regularly.

When wiping or polishing the screen, DO NOT use circular motion. Use left-right or up-down motion and stick to 1 method. No matter how careful you are, polishing the screen will leave a micro scratch which is not appearing to naked eyes. But when drizzling at night with the on coming light from other vehicle, you'll see spider web all over the screen.

Don't ever use machine else the whole screen kaput..

I thought Plexus should be better since it is more expensive, but I found it is not much different from Lemon Pledge.

This for plastic/acrylic?

Found this webpage about cleaning and protecting windscreen. http://allamericanprod.com/hints.html

It is much as what Andre and Ben shared. :)

but it mentioned about not using Pledge, due to alcohol content or smthing. not sure about that.

Anybody tried installing protecting films (much like cars one, 3M type) for the windscreens? does it help?

I missed the alcohol content part....

Will go back and check the content of Pledge..

I'm not very sure about Mah, I think they should have some standard additional charges like number plate, road tax, GST, admin fee blah blah blah..

Therefore when they quoted 9.5k m/c price, it will be about 12.5k OTR with COE at 1.9k.

Yes, we're talking about the windshield which is acrylic based.

Did some search on the net and found this comprehensive discussion on Pledge.

http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/kawasaki-cruisers/102559-pledge-wax-scientific-overview-long-post-but-worth.html

The long and short of it is Pledge is safe for use! and apparently it has very good results! :)

And dun think it contained alcohol, the previous article made a mistake i think. cheers!

Hi AD3 owners to be.....I been following this thread the last few days and I have arouse enough interest to consider booking one unit too...... But I hope you guys can enlighten me on a few points,,,.

1. roof shelter : you will be dry or partially wet during a heavy down pour .? Or do you need to wear just the pants for raincoat when it rain as you need to put your feet down when you stop at traffic light ?

2. At higher speed.....about 120-140 will it be dangerous if hit by any light Crosswind...say over at Shears Bridge....not to mention up north ,,,

3. I always have this in mind ..."Not Japenese Don't Touch" .....continental auto always been more problematic vs Jap .......care to speculate the parts availability and cost ?

4. I have interest in MP3 before in the past but was put off by the parts cost ....I was told once by an MP3 owner that the tyre is very expensive to the tune of hundred plus each and it wear off very fast due to her daily riding.... Multiply by 3 wheel.... It's about 500 plus per change.... Is this true ?? She eventually use cheaper Chinese made tyre,,,,

Appreciate you guys who rode the previous Ad2 and MP3 rider advise.

Cheers& Thanks

1) In heavy down pour, will still get wet unless on the move with more then 30km/h, however will still get wet on both arm (AD3 with wider wind shield might has addressed this issue). Usually, I will wear top rain coat during heavy rain. For light to moderate rain, no problem, do not need to wear any rain coat or jacket. It is very useful while on the move and meet a rain midway and clear sky again. No need to put up and remove jacket.

2) Not sure it can go 140km/h or not but should be able to do 120km/h. Yes, you will feel the cross wind if go above 100km/h. I used to travel pass Benjamin Shears Bridge daily. No problem if travel 100km/h and below.

3) AD 200 is made in Taiwan with SYM engine, AD3 is manufacture in Japan with Kymco engine. I believe the mechanical part shouldn't be problem. Belt & rollers should be easily available as it is same as other scooters. Electrical & electronic part might be different as Adiva is not very common bike in Singapore, therefore, don't expect the dealer to stock up lots of parts. However, it shouldn't be an issue to ask the dealer to indent the parts.

4) Not very sure about the tyres. Have not change the tyres for my previous AD200. However, for AD150, it cost me $140 for both tyres. For AD3, I think it should be same as MP3.

^Highly agree with Andre on point one. The amount of rain your body will receive is like standing in the rain with a small umbrella, light medium rain you get minimal wetness and heavy rain you get some on the sides of yr body. However not having the raindrops pelting on you is a big plus and also being able to block out the direct cold wind.

You'd be most pleased when it starts raining.

As for the tyres, if one piece = $70, two piece = $140 and three piece = $210. Where got $500 tyre change? Even if you use really good ones $120*3=$360? Besides two wheel at the front wears slower compared to one because they will be sharing the load.

Thanks bro for the helpful inputs.......is Mah the only importer ? I am concern about their infamous "attitude" being "discussed" in this thread ......

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/203543-Mah-Motors-Vs-Asphoon!...

Maybe Andre if it's not too much to ask for, can you share with us how was the purchasing experience?

Unless the service is Offensive, I think I will still buy and service elsewhere as long as the terms are acceptable. Anyway don't have much of a choice do we? The are the only ones who bring AD3 in.

Mah is not just the only importer for Adiva, if I'm not mistaken, Mah has a major controlling stake in Adiva Japan, that's why Singapore has the privilege to be among the first to deliver the AD3 (may be they launch in Japan & Taiwan concurrently).

About their services; their are not the best but also not the worst.

I bought the Phantom from them sometime ago. For first month, the bike had lots of problem. Sent back to them, they still entertained and did the repairs. But for subsequent normal maintenance service, they recommended me to send to other workshop cos their mechanics could not cope.

I can understand this cos they had thousands of customers in hand and only a few mechanics. They don't repair Aprilla themselves also. They sending all the Aprilla to their subsidiary to carry out all the services. For this reason, I booked the AD3 through their dealer so that subsequent services will be carry out by the dealer.

For their sales services, the sales persons normally will not bother if you're just browsing in the showroom. Only if you show interest and approach them, then they will entertain.

I'd met some worst sales persons from other authorized agents, they can pretend never see you and just walk away if you approach them.

Hi Bros

Was following the Beneli 150/Advia 200 forum to notice inactivity status. Happens to come across this AD3 forum to note the lively respond.

Me too an Advia AD200 owner. Andre has described rightly on Ma Pte personnel.

Probably I too like to share and comments experience.

It started in end 2008 when my residential area has somebody owns a AD250 which tempted me to admire the scooter with "roof". Initially thought to buy brand new and after spoken to the AD250 owner that he suggest me to try a second hand 150cc.

I started sourcing and look around whenever available. Guess what! prices quoted by the shops seem ridiculous that a 5 year old 150cc at 6.5k by a motor shop at Sembawang North Link.

My brother inform me that he saw the brand new 150cc was selling 8K by Ma Pte. When I was at Ma Pte that happen to saw a 5 year old 150cc and was offered to me at 3.2K. Immediately closed the deal with tge sales person named Rahim.

After 4 months of riding to find the 150cc is very squeeze with a pillion. That time in early 2009, the 3 wheelers was awaiting LTA approval that I'm looking forward to.

In early April, the sales person Rahim inform me that the Advia 3 wheelers was not approve on SG roads that I decided on AD250 instead. He too told me that Ma Pte is not bringing in the 250 due to the 2B licence restriction and only AD200 instead.

At that time the AD250 is powered by the Piaggo Engine where else the AD200 was fitted with SYM engine. Ma Pte traded in my 150cc at 2.7K for the AD200 at 10.5K.

My encounter with Ma Pte so far so good. Andre is right to mention the sales person don't bother you during your browsing session unless you are interested

Their chief mechanic by name of Kenny is normally I shall approach whom I felt his services are sincere.

Andre this dealer that you speak of, how do we go about booking from them and where what are they? Please kindly let us know so we may be able to take up this option as well.

I booked my AD3 through Nan Wah Motor at AMK Ind Park 1, Blk 4002. It is a small shop and not very busy. They are Mah's dealer, therefore, they sell more on Sym Scooter.

I know this shop through Thunder Mah who is a mechanic here. He is a good mechanic but there are quite a fair share of complaints about him.

My friend booked his AD3 from Wing Yap at Balestier Rd who I'd never deal with them before, therefore unable to comment.

To me, there are no perfect motor tiam or mechanic, as long as they don't "carrot" me, I'll still go to them.
