I am not offended by anyone...& neither am I offensive.. as I'm just defensive...

It is just when you are being challenge to a bet..... in a situation that the other party aren't the Advia R&D personnel that with my guts feelings basing on technically application and costing shall decide if or not to take up the offer to bet....

In this case, I accepted and counter offer the other party..... in view of his arrogantly worded statements that was mentioned below as quoted

QUOTED>>

Prefer the way you worded on concern in prospective "economy of cost" "don't reinvent the wheels" and could be dangerous pertaining to road safety concern.

I hope in this forum all Bros raising their views and concern on the AD200/AD3 shall not deemed to be stupidity and unaffordable retarts....but to educate them instead...

We to put the unpleasant exchanges behind and move forward together and hope that Bro @Ben112 would not take this to his heart....

Thanks and regards

No offense taken, I am just cynical about your overly ambitious plans. In fact my bet is put up as a reward, pat on your back should you be able to achieve it.

We are all gentlemen and I take the exchange as a theoretical debate as a prerequisite before it could materialize in reality.

I did not intent to come across as arrogant and I apologize if I made you feel so. And my challenge still stands, if you can achieve the feat I will honor my bet.

Probably in the exchange of mails that are "faceless" which we are can't see each other physically facial expression that may trigger us to look defensive & offensive....

My apologies to ben1112 if my earlier remarks conclusive made on you which may not reflect your act in reverting good faith and purpose...

Cheers and have a good evening 😌

Hello fellow AD3 fans.......lets discuss on more feasible topics leh...... With the wide 2 wheel up front .... Does it mean most if the Lane Spliting days are over ? ......follow up like car driver ? ... What about going thru the woodland checkpoint narrow restricted lane immigration booth ? Has anyone use the car solar protection film on the previous windscreen on AD200 ...can this film be applied on the bigger windscreen on AD3 to protect its Polycarbonate (hopefully) screen ?.

AD3 overall width is slightly slimmer then AD200 by 1cm (based on the spec). So, it should be able to lane split as AD200.

As for crossing the causeway check points, it might be a challenge due to the narrow lanes. Not sure the lane wide enough for the front wheels or not.

In Tuas/GP check point, I heard that MP3 have some difficulty to clear the Gelang Patah Toll booth. The 2 front wheels were rubbing against the road kerbs. If this is true, AD3 might not able to go through as it has a wider wheels span.

I think I'll go and measure both check points lane width (kerb to kerb clearance) first before I try to going with AD3. :cheeky:

Lunch hour drop by at Ma Pte to enquire the AD3 with Mr. Chew (elderly man in white shirt).

1) AD3@200cc latest machine price $10.5k.

2) booking open only for AD3@200cc as the 300cc doesn't have the affirmative machine price yet. (He estimate around $12k to $12.5k machine price for the 300cc model)

3) when asked on the early bird booking promotion that he casually said the machine price for 200cc earlier this year was at $10k as now is at $10.5k.

4) AD3@200cc expected to clear LTA testing and approval obtain by May end.

5) AD3@300cc is still pending and may have to wait till August.

6) AD3@200cc expected first batch to ship to SG shall be in June and LTA approx 4 weeks for process documentation which shall be about in month of July then the 200 cc OTR.

7) his advise for me to go for the 300cc model since I've the class 2 which he mentioned the power and torque is prefer.

8) when asked if the AD3 is fitted with Kymo Downtown scooter model engine which he said is another different Kymo engine but maybe share the same similar exhaust pipe as Downtown.

9) Ma Pte has the printed single A4 catalogue on the AD3@300cc in their showroom rack.

10) when asked if trade in my AD200 that he mentioned there are already 4 units of AD200 sitting in their compound.

Anyone whom are interested in AD200 model can visit Ma Pte to view and consider the option.

Hi all, I'm just curious about this AD3 lane splitting. Doesn't lane splitting not only depends on the width of the vehicle but also on:

1)Width of the mirrors

2)How high the mirrors are placed (some cars mirrors are quite high)

I've went and taken a look at the AD3 at Mah awhile back, and I find that the mirrors do seem a little wider and higher mounted compared to AD2 and MP3?

Rule #1: Always assume you are invisible to other road users.

Posted

Yes, agreed. LS depends on few factors. Therefore, AD200 or AD3 will not be so agile as kup kia. Overall, it still ok. the high mirrors helps to clear car easier but not vans, pick-ups or small lorry.

Thanks bro for the helpful inputs.......is Mah the only importer ? I am concern about their infamous "attitude" being "discussed" in this thread ......

Hi TRR

Pertaining to your earlier concerns on the service levels between Ma Pte and AS Phoon which I've brought bikes from both dealers.

I've brought a Yamaha Fino from ASPhoon and AD150 and AD200 from Ma Pte which I can share my views on them.

If you ever visit Ma Pte showroom that it has a varity of high end range of motorcycles where else AS Phoon doesn't have.

ASPhoon has about 3 branches on the island where else Ma Pte has only one main outlet.

Sales service between the both is similar.... It be best to ask for the max discount before you sign the dotted line....

In all trades, experience sales persons can detect if you are keen or interested or not....

So sometimes is good and to your advantage to behave and act like you are not....

They will try to tempt you with more discount or gifts like 2 helmets, raincoat and free servicing....

It is always ah hoc repairs shall depends on the availability of the workshop technicians....

The AD200 belt and servicing can be done at ASPhoon which Future Scootering also does the same.

I sent in to Ma Pte to done once the belt and rollers change at $176 where else ASPh

Where else ASphoon and Future Scootering charges about $160.

And electrical fault linking the relay to the fuel pump....

I did the rear shock absorber change, front and rear tyres, side stand and oil change at one of the Wksp in AMK park 2.

The mechanic at Ma Pte at times also advise certain repairs can be done by other Wksp as they at times pack with repairs.....

My Fino into the 5 years old usage also now being service and repair by other Wksp....so far so good on the reliability by Yamaha Fino

It is only the insurance renewal for the 2 bikes is with ASPhoon....

I had a friend whom also rides the AD200 that he only sent his bike in at Ma workshop if is relate to engine problem, electrical or electronic problem and faults....

He was told by Ma Pte, being the sole distributor for Advia products, that the key workshop staff has visited the factory in (vietnam) to attend the training....

In his view, they are better inform and have the knowledge to preform the more "sensitive" repair which other workshops may just apply the "white mouse" experiment....

Other wear & tear parts like brakes, belts, rollers, wheels bearings that he does by himself...

If you have a little technical knowledge shall be an added advantage to save some cost.....

No, it was Thunder who called.

Last December, Chew told me the AD3 will be available after CNY, later changed to April, then changed to June. Therefore, I don't want to ask and neither follow up anymore, just told Thunder to inform me when they're ready to deliver.

If really want a firm answer, probably has to ask John Mah directly. :)

Today afternoon at Ma Pte premise seen quite a numerous keen AD3 onlookers which maybe prospective buyers....

Some guys and one lady rider enquiring on the stability, availabilty, OTR pricing.....

and seen one guy measuring the wide of the AD3 front windscreen width to enquire further with Ma personnel if is able to lane splitting, comparing with MP3 front locking system etc etc .......

Suspect and could it be in this forumers @Bro TTR or @Learn this afternoon at site confirmation on lane splitting concerns......

FYI the windscreen width on the AD3 measures at 80cm where else the AD200 measurement is about 75cm width.....

The AD3 front twin wheels width is smaller then 80cm.....

The AD3 concludes to be 5cm (2 inches) wider then the current AD200 model.....

Think lane splitting should be no problem on the AD3.....

Had been waited for 3 years, just another 3 more months. lol.

You don't mention I also never realise it's been so long. I just called WY Motor if I could place a deposit but the uncle advised me to wait for AD3-200 to arrive first den make the deposit since the 300 will be much later.

I think they don't take in booking for AD3 300 now cos Mah hasn't set the price yet.
