take note not all meter for e KM is correct.. i happen to gauage spec2 n project big 1 milage fro sg to desaru.. e diff is project big 1 will clock a 10km plus more than e spec2 over e same distance.. so there is a diff between diff S4 milage clocking..

My spec1 uses petrol at average speed between 90-100km (around 6k rpm n below) 22-23km per ltr. On Malaysia highways, above 6.5k rmp, the km drops to 18-19km per ltr. Full tank until it hits reserve, that is the gauge starts to flick at 330km. Anyone has more to share on Super4? I took this measurement for six month on my spec1

Thanks for all the information given. But from what i know from the manual book. It actually stated the when you turn on your VTEC. actually uses less petrol. NOT TOO sure whether correct or not.

AS for my case, i open vtec almost everytime on the expressway on gear 6. Or is it my idling speed. which is now above 1000 rpm.

What is the correct idling speed?

HOW to adjust it?

HOW long you all warm up your bike?

maybe i warm up too long that why my mileage so low.

bluff bluff bluff Vtec open waste more fuel.

Travel at low speed can save more than open vtec all the time.

Tried many test on my Vtec already.

Best fuel saving method for my bike is

1) always change gear between 3000rpm to 4000rpm

2) maintain cruising speed at 6 gear 6000 rpm. around 98-100km/h (TP will not book u for tat speed on expressway anyway.)

3) always pump your tire to the desire pressure.

I can hit 360 when top up 16litre of petrol only!

You are blur, when I say I am blurr.

Blurrblurr, I agree with u. Vtec1 opens@ around 6500rpm uses more petrol. That why on Malaysia highways, I calculate @ 18 & 19km/ltr, less I get caught with empty tank. At what rpm Vtec2 opens, anyone knows. It supposes to open earlier than Vtec1. That why is more powerful than Vtec1 and it consumes more petrol

discipline yourself to travel at only at about 5k rpm(ie about 80kph only) at sixth gear, change gear at 3rd to 4th gear . u'll surely see an increase in milage. best is to try it after u fill petrol to a full tank.

u can adjust your idling to about 1k, the knob is somewhere under the carb at the centre. u can't see unless u bend down and peek, the knob is shape like a little tap. on your next trip to a bike shop, ask the frenly mech to show and teach. it's hard for me to really describe how to look for it and turn to adjust.

warming up takes about 3 to 5 mins, mine takes about one smoking cigarette :D , if late less than that or just touch the block to feel if it's warm.

Mine is Vtech2.. Fuel consumption quite good leh, I must say.. Can go up 360-370 km before hitting reserve.. Using Vpower or Shell 98 also the same.. But the thing is I dont open v-tech often.. Usually travel on the expressway around 90 to 96 km/h, just before v-tech opens..

Mine version S 340Km then hit reserve. Total about 370-380Km for full tank Vpower. Normally change gear at 5rpm for gear 1 & 2. And 4rpm for 3 & 4.

Speed is not important at all, what it matters is the skill of riding safely and treasuring your own life in your own hands.

Mine is when the needle is to the extreme "E", something like when the engine is off.

ha...

then i be wasting my money liao

i only can hit 280km with full tank that include the reserve.... maybe because my motor shop set the idling speed to 1000- 1200 rpm.... whether does it really consume lot of petrol that decrease the mileage?

From wat i know the rpm should be 800 -900 rpm.

Please advise thanks you very much.

That is normal idling range for our bike and doesnt really contribute to fuel consumtion much.Check ur air filter?
