Oh man... 50 PSI is way too much exceeding the recommended pressure... You gotta really take care while riding through bumps, potholes and cornering... :giddy:

Yeah, thanks for all the concern. The max pressure indicated on the tire wall is 42 psi. I have reduced it to 45 psi (+7%) now, which I think will be no longer a problem. Actually, it also depends a lot on the condition of your rim. If it's a badly worn rim, then the chances of bursting are higher. Otherwise, the most likely fault will be the deformation (bulging at certain parts of the tire on the thread surface) of the tire itself, which I had experienced once before. In this case, have no choice but to change a new tire altogether. Anyway, the tire in use at that time was already more than 2 years old and may have exceeded its useful life. Also, in my opinion, tubeless tires are less prone to bursting, compared to tube tires because the bursting is normally caused by the inner tube, not the tire itself.

it is gd to follow the max pressure which is 42 in this case. even no bursting happen, now u are having lesser contact and grip with the grd which is not an ideal case.

The max I have achieved is 24km/l, but really no point because it's under controlled riding and seldom do I go long distance riding to get that FC.

Under SG heavy traffic jams, the FC will never get better...

bro mine is considered good enough le..full system wit jetting on highway i spent most of the time ard 110-120km/h. stock should get better.

oh..my Vtec II after change GPR exhaust, BMC air filter, Engine oild Caltex, 04 iridium sparks...fuel consumption at 70km/h is 22km/litres, when open Vtec it is only around 20km/litre. Is it Okey??

Heart that Raizin VS can save fuel consumption but my friend advised me not to use it (no more power, nothing changed)???

My version S reaches 450km and there are still another 1.7 litre of petrol in my reserve tank. I guess the person weight play a part in petrol consumption too. :)

weight is 1 of the factor to fc. riding style too.

HI, is there any diff if I pump esso syn 5000 or 8000?
yes. 5000 is enough.

hi ppl, wanted to ask u all about ur definition of 'full tank'. Do u all mean right up to the brim and any more drop into the tank will cause the petrol to overflow????

Btw how u all gauge whether u are using reserved liaoz?? on side stand? when the bike is upright? or when the bike is moving?? Coz when mi bike is moving, at least two more bars will come on compare to when the bike is on its side stand.

According to the manual, it's not good to pump to the brim. I also found out that by doing so, the lower portion of the cap's lock (internal) will be soaked with petrol, which I believe will not be good for the lock's mechanism in the long run. Just my views.

maybe u are right. but not a very big issue as petrol use up very fast.

However, there are also times when after pumping your petrol at the kiosk nearest your home, then you head straight home and don't use the bike until the next day or even later. Thereafter, if parked on its sidestand (as most of us don't install the mainstand anyway), the bike's tilting position will submerge the lower internal portion of the cap's lock mechanism to the petrol for long duration. Anyway, my preference is still to pump until the neckline, not to the brim.

yes. to avoid this, can pump b4 going out instead.

Am riding a spec ii. Just got it 2nd hand about 2.5mth back.

I have been recording my consumption every tank.

Low FC: 20.3km/l (i achieved that once only)

Highest: 18.2km/l

Sticking to caltex 98 for 8 tanks already, tried shell 98 previously.

normally, light will start blinking at 290km.. if lucky, at 300km.

i see fellow s4 riders hitting 400km mark easily. my bike can reach that. max i have gone @ 17.5l was 343.1km.

riding style as 4 - 5k rpm change gear. smooth accel + decel. once in a while go vtec on expressway. have tried without going vtec at all.

but i travel mainly on the road and lesser on the expressway. does that cause that vast difference in fuell consumption.

things done for the bike:

1st mth change tire to sportec m1 (due to bad luck of some huge rod, beyond repair for old tire. so just changed a set. keeping the front dunlop as a spare)

2nd mth:

change eo to maxima, oil filter, spark pluck, coolent flush, change coolent cap as well, remove termostat, carburator washing + tuning, change the rubber insulater for carburator all @ K&T.

then went again to do brake servicing and bleeding as i experienced problems with brake as well & changed wheel ball bearings.

overall total damage in two mths: $885

and still no improvement on FC at all.. still in the range of 18km/l to 19pluskm/l.

can't see 20km/l yet. is it really just due to road usage or can there be any thing else?

clifford suggested, that my bike has gone 90,000km. could be time to change clutch plates, valve clearance and he also said that my carburater got this pins need to change and that could be a reason. 4 pins, each $20. no more $$, so i havent change that.

thinking of using caltex 95 to see got diff. but besides fuel grade, is there anything else that can be a problem or do what clifford mentioned and should improve ? pls advise. will grounding or anything else that help improve FC?

thx in advance.

ps: as for tire pressure, i do maintain it at bike recommendation back 42psi, front i think it was 38psi, cant remember.

lube my chain regularly.

hi guys, I have bought a 2nd hand V-tec 1. After changing EO(Maxima Full Syn) and Oil Filter (Original), I have notice my fuel consumtion was high. Example: 1 pump 14.5 L and can only last for about 275km and on average is around 19km/L. I checked my tyres which is ok and my riding style was @ 95km/h at 5.5 RPM constantly.

The questions are how to improve my fuel consumption. What things I need to service?

wah 95km.h at 5.5RPM ? the norm for super4 is 95+ at 6RPM. maybe some do differ.. pls advise if wrong.

back to topic, u shld observe maybe 1 or 2 more tanks. when i first got it maybe not used to riding it yet.. so everytime drag till 5rpm or higher then change gear, it can only last me 280km per tank.

when i got used to it washed carb tune everything done up, now can last me at least 320. when go jb pump to brim shake shake squeeze, can last at least 350.. actually it depends more on ur riding style, open vtec often? those kinda things.. try few more tanks bro.
