soon we will be saying that to you too 😊

how are your lessons coming along?

600k? how? food delivery usage?

wahahah i’m a slow learner and hoping to pass tp before the cameras and sensor tp test implementation 😭 I’m currently at P8, got 30 points for my first attempt due to BS checks on the road, 6 points for wobble? and overshot timings for Fig 8 and Pylon.

Seems that I’ve lost touch for pylon esp since i’m always over the 6 sec timing lol!!!

Hey guys,

Was scrolling through the thread but abit long ah. Was wondering how long did you all take to pass your 2B license? Selling off my car soon as cost is too high for me to maintain so decided to switch to bike.

Went to BBDC to sign up and do all the theory lesson, but when booking practical I realise can only book 1 practical and only for your subject #. Was lucky to snap up a trysell slot and went for my first practical today but afterwards booking of next lesson is like 1-2 weeks later….

If u're dilligent enough, every week go for lesson n pass every lesson in 1-2 try then u can probably clear in 4 months? For mi i took about 6-7months at SSDC. Pass TP in 1st try. Yes, all driving sch now can only book 1 lesson at a time.. if u noe when the school release the slots then u can book weekly or when other ppl give up their slot.

i did my 2B last year at BBDC too. Started Apr, got my licence at end Aug.

try to chk the website for freed up slots each evening. Sometimes people will cancel or trysell. That's probably the best way to accelerate the process.

the biggest wait is probably to clear the defensive driving lessons as those got filled up quickly and not many lessons conducted. Also the 3 simulator sessions are a bottle neck so book those as soon as you can.

good luck! with your driving experience, the road sessions should be easier for you compared to others.

All bikes on carousell are crazy priced. I got see 600k mileage bike asking for more than 5k...

Also only bike body (0 coe) can sell more than original buying price due to external modifications. I tried listing my FZ16 with 1 year COE for a reasonable price but decided not to sell because it is impossible to find a reasonably priced alternative.

is the bike older than 10 years? cause mathematically if he rides for say... 8 hours non stop for almost 4 year clocking 500km daily. Then you can get 600k.

In singapore, with the traffic and traffic lights + delivery... say you work 12 hours each day maybe 250km? minimally also do 8 years... Think grab not that old yet. So need to be other type of courier.... for 8 years. Else i suspect the bike is shared. 3 person ride it for 24hours hahaha... in all cases... better not buy... its very used liao hahaha

Finally changed my profile to reflect the "2B"  :)

For those who are curious... here is a chronicle of my recent 2B journey.

Endorsed license on 11 Feb 2022 (the official license date) It could only be today as the weekends are the only time off work.

The gaps between the dates are due to travelling, hence there was no time to do successive weekends of lessons due to work. The only extension of time was due to 3.01, the plank that was from being the weakest, to one of the strongest part of the circuit. It was mainly achieved by the RC(s) and not the 3.01 lesson itself. One can scroll back and saw the amount of time went for it. 😊

I think.....for young guys/gals....on average should be around 1/2 year if go lessons at least once a week.

For uncle level like me ... that time i took 1 year for my 2B (cos got 3 months lockdown)...so effectively i took about 9 mths....

Thanks everyone,

Seems like 2B waiting time is super long base on all the replies. So far for my timeline is

RTL 1.1 (07/02) > RTL 1.2 (08/02) > Prac 1.1 (10/2) > Prac 1.2 (12/2) > RTE (13/2)

Am on a long leave from Feb to end March and was hoping to chiong the license, kept refreshing the page and managed to snap up those Prac lesson. But looks like not alot of people willing to let go of their slots eh which is kinda unfortunate.

Edit 10:00am - Managed to pass my Prac 1.2 and also snap up 1.3 later this afternoon. If this goes on, might actually be able to pass within 2 months

It should take about what you estimated, and it also coincides with the admin lady at the counter who told me. I originally told her that I budget 1 year and she laughed saying "it won't take so long" and she assumed that I've riding experience. 😶
It's more about the wait for the booking of lessons and life that comes in between, that is, work and holidays and other commitments.

That's pretty fast to get the slots. While getting the license in a jiffy, the most important (IMHO) is to literally enjoy the ride. That's something most riders have. I'm sure you will do well and get it soon too! :)

TP alone for schools like CDC might be 2 months away. Even if you go for lessons everyday (impossible to get slot) there is no way you can complete so fast.

to add to my earlier post, i think it will help to go for weekly RC (Circuit Revision) once allowed to. I think it's available once you clear 5.01 or 5.02.

this is because levels 6 and 7 are all road sessions. No circuit (except maybe warmup) then level 8 is assessment for circuit + road.

it's left to the trainee to get more experience on circuit and if  your schedule allows, going for more RC will help you get more practice time as well as learning from different instructors. Perhaps one RC a week is sufficient but up to individual.

Managed to clear Prac 1.3 today and get the next Prac 2.1 this coming Friday. Am hoping someone release their slot on valentines instead then don’t have to wait too long hahaha…

Today during prac, it rained quite heavily, drenched throughout even with the provided raincoat. Not sure if I should invest in a better one + waterproof glove and boots or not.

I do plan on taking a lot of RC, partially so I can play around and also get use to the shifting. Abit confusing to have to focus and remember what gear I’m in, sadly the bike doesn’t show the gear so when I forgot, I’ve to downshift all the way and shift up again.

you're progressing fast!

since you plan to get a bike and ride, i think it would be good to get and use your own rain coat/pants. The ones provided at the training center aren't very hygenic.

gloves - good to get a decent pair of CE-certified riding gloves (if you don't already have) but i'm not sure if waterproof gloves are a good idea. The ones i've seen are all very thick and hot. For raining weather, i switch to a pair of thinner gloves, ironically. For practical reasons - they dry faster and i want to keep my regular gloves dry for the next day. For school use, i guess the risk of a high speed fall is pretty low.

boots - waterproof boots will still find a way to get wet. One option is to get waterproof high cut boot covers. These should be tucked in under the rain pants.

i just rode back from KL today. Rained from Yong Peng all the way to SG. Even helmet got soaked. Shirt rather wet, jeans just damp. Boots and socks perfectly dry. And i rode through a flooded stretch in Kulai.

I have expensive Goretex gloves that are waterproof but I seldom use them. Btw where did you get the boot covers from?

boot covers - u can get them at local shops or the usual online sources. Do take note of the sizes. i had to get XXL to fit my size 12 boots. And it's a tight fit.

Goretex gloves  😍

Haha yea the raincoat got abit of smell and when I came home, started scratching even after I showered. I’m okay getting wet to be honest since my car had 3 days spare set of clothes, but didn’t expect them to enforce wearing raincoat. Also I didn’t know how bad it felt walking around with soggy socks and water filled shoe.

I bought the thin motorwerks glove from shell station, it got super drench and I’m just scared if I were to have back to back lesson or even next day one, it wouldn’t be able to dry fast enough.

That boot cover thing looks good, gonna try finding one at Regina tomorrow along with the rainy attire, hopefully I won’t have to use it much.

i keep a pair of slippers in my car, in addition to the spare clothes for changing to after bike lesson 😄

gloves - those thin ones should dry overnight but if you are looking for more, search "mx gloves" and "nomex flight gloves". i have one of each of these. Minimal fall/abrasion resistance but good tactile feel for the signal button and levers. Mx gloves dry very quickly. The flight gloves take a bit more time to dry but they're great in wet weather.

If you go for road lessons and road revision it is compulsory to bring raincoat at the back of the bike so will need alot. For SSDC circuit is it optional.

I remember I go a on a weekly basis.. book 2 session weekly on monday and (thursday or friday) respectively then if I pass on monday, cancel the session for thursday/friday..

TP alone for schools like CDC might be 2 months away. Even if you go for lessons everyday (impossible to get slot) there is no way you can complete so fast.

you're progressing fast!

since you plan to get a bike and ride, i think it would be good to get and use your own rain coat/pants.

And i rode through a flooded stretch in Kulai.

nice and wet ride.. 👍
