Nothing to do with age, rather its abt not getting caught. I got caught once choping bike by Mr Edmund Ting & was promptly ticked off. Just have to be discreet when doing it....eg not doing it when instructors are doing their rounds refuelling bikes.

I refer to the video in the link below. The way he depressed and released his clutch level seems to be very fast. Is it because of his bike? Or only at the speed he's traveling? Can it be done using cdc 2b bike?

If the biting point is closer to the end of the lever throw, you can change gear faster since you don't have to pull the lever as much before the gears disengage.

I think from gear 2 onwards, there's no need to slowly release clutch. The half clutch method is only so the bike doesnt jerk and die from lack of throttle/speed but in gear 2-3 you are alr moving at speed.

You do know for a fact that they arrange the order for TP by age? And there is only 2testee:1bike ratio. So eventually, all the bike will be used if you are at the back?

Hey I need help here. I've failed 3 practical lesson 5 for the past three days and most of the time I got penalised for "Improper check of blindspot". I asked the instructor during my CR and all he said was to always check blindspot when making a turn or changing lane. So i did just that and i got penaslised again on my third try.

Now can someone please refresh me on the proper technique of checking blindspot and when to check? Preferably with a marking on the circuit map or step by step (for lesson 5 route) so i can prepare myself for the next one i booked on this Sunday.

Thanks in advance. Feeling a bit frustrated.

Yes all bends & changing lanes need to chk blindspot. After ebrake just before exiting the give way line also need to check. (assuming all clr to go, otherwise stop there).

Blindspot is abt 45 deg behind your shoulder. So pls turn your head more. Make it obvious. I tend to tuck my head down to the left/right & look at the said direction. Much faster then turning head. The same principle with my chk bks.

You may be checking too late. Check about one car length before the turn/bend.

Or you may be checking wrongly. Blind spot is the space beside you, not behind you. Are you making the mistake of turning your head all the way back?

Hmmm... This is why I didn't sign up for my 2B with CDC even though CDC is closest to my home amongst the 3 driving centres. When I was enquiring, I asked each centre what is the approximated time taken to complete the 2B course - considering that I already have my Class3, so no need to take BTT. CDC told me 8 months. SSDC told me 6 months. BBDC told me 4 months. No prize for guessing which centre I'm doing my 2B with now.

In fact, when I enquired at CDC, after seeing my shocked face, the customer service girl actually hinted to me to try asking other centres - as they may be faster.

Don't worry, I "wait" for both of you. I'm doing my first lesson 3 tmr. Started learnibg in Aug. Have been going for weekend and evening lessons only. Including waiting for booking of next lesson. It's one month clear one level so far.

However, I don't know how fast can I clear practical 3. Managed to book 3 lessons only in Oct.

Maybe we can meet during practical 3 lessons , when you guys advances.

Gambatte.!!

Thanks for enlightening me. I think I might be checking too late. I tend to check blind spot about 0.01 sec before i change lane and i only check when I'm going through the bend. Next CR I will ask the instructors their expectations and correct technique. You guys are great!
