Anyone drooling for the V3 yet???

Love the sleek design but alas.......the hefty price tag makes it not much of an affordable price.......:lovestruck:

new motorola v3(motorazor) is super slim men.... the design super cool, i think the interface will be alot more user friendly than anyother mot phone. but the price sure above $1k one. the E398 so far so good lah i think as i got friends using them quite satisfide with the phone. currently i am using the V600 which i think is good enough for me for the time being. i do have A760 which is a pda phone, V690 and V878.

no active trips since 2006

in terms of design, the V3 is not so impressive as it is too wide. It is, however, very slim.....

However, in modern terms, the features are not that attractive. Memory is 5mb non expandable....

Wow! Never realise there's this section until now. Just thought I'll share my experience on the V3 after using it 2.5 months. I've since sold it and got a Siemens SL65 instead. Yep, you guessed right. The V3 is one of the most f***ked up phone I've used. Got it in Dec for $988 and sold it last week for $600 with an extra batt :(

Following major flaws :

1) When not using active flip (opening the flip answers the call), there is a 2 sec delay AFTER pressing the call answer button to answer the call. Yes, 2 whole secs. I've missed a few calls that way.

2) When typing a SMS, you can type up to 5 words ahead of the display. Yes, it's is that slow. And if the msg is long, the delay gets longer!!

3) iTAP predictive SMS displays the last word used. Eg. typing 6 twice can either be for "no" or "on". Because it displays the last used word, it is actually more of a bother as you cannot remember what will appear. So very often, wrong word appear and you gotta go back to amend it. In Nokia and Siemens where T9 is used, there is consistency as it always displays a fix list of words as option.

4) Missed calls and received calls are in 1 list, total 10 numbers only. How expensive is it to have another 10 memory dedicated to missed calls??!!!

5) Camera resolution sucks. If you're in it for the camera, forget it. I'm not so not really an important point.

6) When flip is closed, you cannot reject a call even though there are 3 buttons outside. Need to open the flip and press the call reject button. You can only silence the ringing with the flip closed but to the caller, it's still ringing. Bad if you need to divert a call.

7) Can't finger type due to the keypad. But I wouldn't really call this a flaw as that's how the phone is designed. I thought can still try but forget it.

To be objective, there are some good points but to me, some of the above are too major for me to ignore :

1) Radiation level much lower than Nokia. I get a pain/headache behind my ear after talking > 2 mins on my previous Nokia. The V3 doesn't give me this problem even after 10 mins. I think Motorola is more strict in observing the radiation emission level. But it's the same for my Siemens :) No headaches after 10 mins as well.

2) Bluetooth headset is amazing. Can leave it in my car for 2 weeks and talk about 1.5 hours in total then needs re-charging. Of course it is turned off when not in use.

3) Decent standby/talk time. Up to a day with heavy talk time of about 1.5 hours.

4) Auto cleanup of SMS by age from sent box eg. can set sent msgs of more than certain number of days to be purged

5) Rare. Not everyone using the same phone as you :) But it's the same with my current Siemens SL65 :)

After sales service for Motorola sucks.

My keypad developed a problem with number 4. Sent it in and was told that they've no stock for it for the next 3 weeks!!!! Cry father, cry mother at the place. Then time reduced to 3 days. Went back home, cry father, cry mother to Motorola complaint line and this time, asked me to go down tomorrow to get it replaced.

This kind of service for such a premium phone is way unacceptable to me.

So for me, it'll be the last Motorola phone I'll be buying for a long, long time.

This phone is going for dirt cheap if you sign 2 yr plan... no point pay up to 500 bucks...

did you look thru all his ads? I went thru a few, and they are all the same -$500. Even for the latest Nokia 8800. Think its just spam.

Got this phone 3 weeks ago and willing to give it a try on this phone after using Nokia for ages.

Motorola has improved it's function, of cos, not as good as nokia. but overall, to me, it's a can get phone. if you don't need a very good phone to call, got pictures, for video, or music, but looking for design of the phone, V3 is a phone for you to get.

Though there are good and bad which clubhead mentioned, but to be frank, every phone have it's good and bad, not to compared to Nokia.

Just a 2cents worth of comments...
