AR2, some things I noticed after looking ard his bike for a while :

1. His front Metzeler Tourance is squaring off. Cos he can't lean much during corners due to the Samsonite lugguages.

2. The rear shock of the F650GS is almost gone case. Just a little push down the seat and you will know.

3. His handle grips are very well seasoned.

3 things I had noticed so far....hope you or anyone here in SBF can contribute to help him carry on his journey which I can only dream of...

I think your eyes are VERY VERY sharp!! I managed to catch the bike on friday abt 2130hrs after catching "dirt out" (a local film production on SG dirt riders & how they secured the tuas track) at THE OLD SCHOOL at Sophia Rd as Peace/Parklane center is just minutes away.

Damn its really cool after scrutineering the bike. YES the areas you mentioned are well true & correct!! :thumb:

Guess what? He was sitting just outside this "mama" stall meters from his bike reading newspapers! I (& a friend) tried to communicate with him via my notepad, but he seems to be very interested in his newspaper. He only kept telling (by writing that is...) us to go home catch the ch8 programme at 2230hrs featuring him!!

Never got a chance to get him interested in me wor...... I wanna donate headlamp kits coz i also noticed his existing one is gone (stolen or drop i dunno). Also many many chips.... if the headlamp breaks along his trips, it'll be pretty dangerous w/o lights also...:giddy:

Thank You.

Regards,

AR2 Performance

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

Good post Uncle Tay. I was about to suggest the Angola journey myself when I saw the first post but you beat me to it :cheeky:

Seems like this very trip has gathered so much publicity and fame from advrider... One of the Legends already. Especially one of the "supermans" within.

Have a good read guys. Its darn alot of pages but worth the long read till the end.

The more I ride my SV, the less I care about going to the annual bike show and looking at new,

or expensive, or exotic machinery. I'm continuing to mod my bike into exactly what I want it,

and enjoying every mile I put on it.

Canyon the Chelly, Utah

Pronounced “sha-e”, I stood corrected. A nice ride into Arizona exploring the cliffs of this Canyon I had never heard of till a few days ago. Beautiful and breathtaking, uncrowded on Navajo Land as they also live in the Valley with much farming utilizing the rich soil available.

For the first time we were not alone, joined by Art, a reader and rider from New York City, New York… curious of our Lifestyle. Quite a step for him to pack up and go as it seems that his own Journey has turned into Jell-O abandoning all the plans he had drawn on his map and just following his nose.

It is never the “destination” truly, but the Journey. A bit of cooking, many pictures and ourselves will go back again to ride some of the roads we did not have a chance to touch yet.

Enjoy the Canyon, I hope you get to visit it some day soon…

Be well… Ara & Spirit

hang on, you guys are actually advocating that others help pay for his holiday? because of his "spirit"?

all i see is a chubby old man who's looking for a free ride (which he has been on for the past few years).

we're in what may the worst recession ever - if you have spare cash, keep it .. if not for yourself, then to prevent yourself being an unnecessary burden on other taxpayers. if you really feel the need to empty your wallet, there are many charities in singapore who truly deserve financial aid - for their cause, for their tireless staff/volunteers, and if not, for our fellow singaporeans.

i can only hope this (partial) freeloader is no longer in singapore, given that this thread was started 04/08.

edit: i don't have a heart of ice .. i sympathise with him .. but .. >.

shouting things loudly does not make them right.

clearly you have not read my post in any detail. it is precisely because i have others in mind that's why i think his is not a cause worth fighting for.

This form of donations is known as Gas Fund, it has become an acceptable practice for RTW tourers. Even our Singaporean RTW tourer "Slime" is doing that.

http://singaporedream-rtw.blogspot.com/

It's the camaraderie among bikers regardless of nationality, type of bikes, social status. age, gender.

Even if you have no cash to spare, just a word of encouragement will go a long way.

this much i understand. what i don't get is how people think this is a cause (as distinguished from a charitable purpose) worth advocating. there is so much more that we can do for our own and the people of this world. i note with interest that despite having sent some 60 requests, of which only 4 replies were received, Slime did not manage to secure corporate sponsorship.

nonetheless, to each his own. it is not my intention to intrude upon another's rights, but to merely state my 2cents in an open forum.

a very sincere :goodluck: to Yarets and Slime.

cool down guys...

IMO, donations are to make within your abilities and willingness.

I'm happy when I make a donation to someone who receive every cents from me.

I rather not donate if only few % of my money goes to the needies.

So sad and angry to hear the 2 big cases happened
