As for EO change, I've managed to speak to Unique Motors to give our fazer guys for $70. (3 Bottles Maxima Extra + Original Oil Filter). Just head on down and look for Kelvin. Mention to him that you know dnt and you're going for the maxima oil change package.

what are your gear shifts points for your bike?

I ride a FZS1000 Gen 1, spend most of my time on the highway doing 90 or so in 6th gear, with the RPM at 4000+/-. Yeah, the point where it gets very vibey and buzzy.

 

Do you guys also take off fast, running up the gear shifts and then spend 90% of your riding time stuck in 6th gear?

I'm new here, still doing running in period, have to constantly do up and down gear.

Ultimately, it depends on the rider. If mood is right, I will play gears when overtaking, otherwise, just maintain and ride relax relax.

I think often shifting up and down gear on highway will increase fc unnecessarily.

i ride on 5th gear at 100km/hr. rpm 4k+. sometimes 6th at 100km/hr rpm 4k. fc 15km/L

At 4K RPM, the vibration are at the worst. After that, it goes smooth. :\

My average mileage is 18km/L. Not bad lah.

I just throttle up fast and shift at 4.5K or so. Then cruise at 100 at 4K in 6th.

 

Actually I tend to do 110 at 4.5K or 120 at 5K. That RPM range gives the best fuel economy, nevermind the damned speed limit. Better mileage.

hey i am still holding on to my gen1 fz1, coming to 4 years now, that about the longest i ever owned a bike for, beside my vmax which was with me for 5 years.

fazer definitely one of the best all-rounder bike around

yup and bigger tank, 21litres inclusive reserve...average 18km/l or more and around 290km before reserve light comes on...reserve have about 3 litres to go

 

btw, there are many gen1 fz1 owners that is still owning the bike since brand new, that will indicate how good the bike is, it doesnt gives us problems..

yup...i kinda like the gen-1 fazers..i kinda feel it just warmed my heart...but its hard to find one esp since, as u said it, the riders still loved the bike...

kelvin is which unique? the eunos one or defu lane one...im a regular at defu one

 

The one at eunos. And yea its 2.7 litres for our bikes with oil filter. (FZ6-08)
