Hmm...Let's see...Main frame crack, TPS, batt dont last, spark plug coils failure, water will slip into tank, fuel pump failure.

Yeah yeah .....

Slow rev-up for a 1000cc, 06 model got abrupt throttle response, etc etc...

and the list goes on.

wah piang u guys decribe it like a nightmare machine... :cheeky: but lets be fair lar.. some of these are inherrent in nearly all yammie bikes, not only fazers. Plus other manufacturers oso got thier long list of faults so let's not scare the chap. Plenty of people out there riding (nearly) problem free 07 fz's.

hmmmm... sounds like he needs a cow.

it can be goat milk and mutton he is after...:D

that time i was chatting wit the mechanic at HLC while doing my 2nd servicing, there was one FZ1 there wanting to get a valve clearance but the mechanic was saying if the engine doesnt give u any funny feeling, don do valve clearance even if u hit the mileage reccomended by the manual. its the mechanic advice to me if in future i hit valve clearance mileage.

yup the manual 40 000km is to safe guard the manufacturer interest just in case of claims...70 000km and above should be a good figure to do a valve clearance check cum timing chain cum tensioner change

Thanks James, I google Singapore Fazer, no wonder cannot find lah, haha.

I think I did my valve clearance, timing chain and tensioner at around 47000 km. There's a saying "If it's not broken..." Then again, no harm letting the mechanic check right? (other than damage to wallet)

Oh btw, I'm a gen 2 rider as well, long time lurker. Now more free at work so can surf forums, haha.

btw, i kinda forget how you look like already, maybe you should come to one of our lks to refresh our memories..you like went to outer space and finally just landed back on earth

gen1fz1 - main problem maybe the ticking bomb sound for some bikes, 2 side front panels like to crack when tighten too tight..other than that not much of a issue.

gen2fz1 - the list of problems as described by james and deus

gen3fz1 - WHAT NEXT???

wanna ride with madness?

IMO , i think other than batt issues , the 06 FZ1 is a very gd bike . I should be keeping it when i clear the loan at the end of tis yr . :)

Yeah, unless something major breaks... like the electricals or engine, my 08 FZ1 looks to be a keeper.

Well, at least when I clear the loan this April, I can start to accessorize it.

2010 VFR is 1200cc n shaft driven. the older ver is 800cc n chain driven.

ideal idling shd b ard 1000+ cos at times when idling drop it will drop abit low n end up causing the engine to stall due to low idling...

no prob. VFR is meant to b a sport tourer but then the posture seems more like sport bike. hope it reach our shores n let go n try!!

as long as the idling is not giving u prob, its ok... cos the prob might b common for smaller cc bikes.
