my advice is try to use a mount... if u put it in tank bag, it's hard to see and you had to turn your head down to see... it's kinda dangerous as well... :)

i had removed the mirrors of the fz1s to try to rectify the rust problem.....

below is the picture of how it looks like....( i had already cleaned up some of the rust and its still the condition as the picture)

my ride is less than a year old...

think i wana faint liao >.

my FZ1 07 oso have this prob when i bought it 2nd hand. if oil it, can use but when the oil is out, it start to have prob turning smoothly. so i use WD40 to de-rust in n guess what? the rust is 'eaten', leaving the mirror loose cos the rust is really bad. now my mirror is shaking. not firm any more. a new mirror cost $110.

 

so for those new owners or existing owners, its advised to do mirror maintenance once in a while to prevent this. i had to live with the shaking mirror cos the stock mirror is way too ex. will need to wait till the price drop b4 considering to replace it.

There's nothing much you can do about it now. Should've applied grease earlier. I did mine the day I bought the bike. A new pair will cost you $200 - $240.

Also check:

Front and rear wheel bearings when changing tyres

Front and rear disc brake caliper pistons.

Crannky crank..... Where can i get the BMW grips huhh ? M-Tech or wat izzit $35 ..... coz Goink to BMW itself abit far for me so I rather head down to east area where i can get my grips. Futhermore... If i head down to M-tech do dey carry Barends for our ride ???

bmw grips can be bought at mtechnik at paya ubi level 5. Cost not very sure...
