Hi bros, recently i feel like my bike is struggling to pick up speed. After shifting up the gear, when I continue to open up throttle, bike struggle at around 2000RPM; after 3000 or 4000RPM it becomes normal. I noticed my ideling speed has dropped to below 1000. I did my valve clearance, throttle adjustment & sync two months back and after that have ride about 2k km only.

For the time being, I have increase ideling speed to above 1000 by myself; bike is behaving better; but still can feel the problem. Any suggestion why the bike is behaving strangely, or which component might have gone wrong. Thanks for your kind advice.

check your EXUP valve/motor, it might be faulty or requires servicing

Inspection of exhaust is $78.11.... LTa making alot of money just doin the paper works ..

Actually a good ex-up provides superior low to mid-range performance. Because the valve creates more back pressure at low RPMs for optimal power, and opens up at higher rpms to release it. Providing a more linear power output.

 

The problem here is in the serving manual, it states "to check the exup cables free play periodically" But seriously who does that? lol. so over time all the dirt and **** accumulates there..

 

and VOILA

Congrats u have a seized exup valve.

 

I could be wrong but try cleaning up the exup valve and cables and u may be surprised at how amazing this EXUP technology is..

Thanks bros for ur suggestions, I'll bring the bike to mechanic for checking this EXUP valve over this weekend. Later, I'll update u about the diagnostics. Hopefully it will not burn a big hole in my pocket.

hey guys just wanna ask those riding fz6. is there anything that can be done to make the throttle easier to twist? the throttle snaps back fine, just that it takes alot of force to twist the throttle. like the return spring to strong or something. similar to the clutch which i feel needs alot of pressure to pull in compared to other bikes.

I believe MW has the fast throttle selling.. Not sure how muchh..

Try the fast throttle by Spiderman in cmo. I used that last time.

yea FZ6 clutch needs a lot more force to clutch in. Its the design flaw.

 

I just service my bike at bikeworks. Beng told me the Preload Adjuster for FZ6 will be coming in next week. 10pcs only. While stock last.

Lol the throttle rocker thing ah? Yea I prob will try that first since its cheap

Haha clutch not too irritating to me since u seldom pull it as compared to the throttle. If no gloves throttle really sian. Especially when blipping on downshifts.

I have a '09 Fazer 6 S2 since new.

 

Been having this problem for the past 8 months intermittently.

 

When I turn the ignition on and press the starter button, it just makes a click sound. Sometimes i press the start button a few times and finally the starter motor will come on and it will start. Today, it took me about 5 minutes of clicking before it started. This 5 min clicking happened once before too.

 

a) battery is 3 yrs old - on the way out? unlikely because if it is weak ... it wont start (like today) especially after 5 minutes of clicking and the small lamps draining it even more.

b) starter motor fuse?

c) seems to improve a bit when i sprayed contact cleaner into the starter button area ... just a poor contact?

 

Any one else here experience this?

 

Would appreciate any views/advice on the possbile causes. Thanks.
