You can actually use any oil based liquid to clean off the chainlube. e.g. Kerosene or diesel. After washing a small portion, quickly rinse off with Soap water.

Will not harm the chain lah. another method to clean off those sludge markings os to use wax but be careful on the tyres.

i uses a small amount of white grese to clean off those dirt+lube accumulated on the chain. wipe it off with a clean cloth and you got a greased and lube chain. Will be easier and less tedious if you have a car jack to get the rear wheel off the ground.

Life is full of ups and down, I call it roller coaster ride.

When you are going up, you will have all the anticipation of fun and trill and get to see all the nice scenery. But when you sense that it is going down, you will wish it would stay there forever but the thruth is its not possible.

Before you know it, you are on the way down and only thing one can do is

hold on tight to yourself. If cannot take it let it out by shouting.

The higher you went, the longer the sufferings.

But when you are at the bottom already, you will try to think of those nice moments up there again. But at the same time fear the coming down part.

Some things are, we know it yet we still go and try it.

Till the moment we are off the roller coaster on the platform, some people suffer and puke while some are enjoying the process and laughing to their joy.

if you wanna clean your chains, just pour some turpentine/kerosene on to a rag and just wipe the chain exterior. leave the lube inside the orings alone.

maybe next time u may want to try using left over engine to lube your chains. very easy to clean if flinged to the rims and tyre.

I wash my chain using decreaser, which is very effictive. All the black lump of oil, lube, dirt, all came off easily.

hope yr degreaser wun wash off the internal lube inside the chain..

WD40 can attract dust.

Dun spray to chain for cleaning. Spray on cloth else imagine the WD40 goes into the rings than start trapping dust inside.

Not for lubrication of the chain also. Use designed chain lube.

If HKL say cannot use kerosene, diesel or WD40 to clean the chain then how to clean the chain? Or is it actually their practice not to clean at all? Then u spray chain wax also no use cos all the dust, sand and sludge all still stuck there. Do they just drip engine oil over? Typical sloppiness shortcut dun bother at all.

I usuall spend almost an hour just to maintain my chain. No mainstand so everytime clean have to push the bike. After that I lube the chain, I push again so everywhere covered. After which I go to cleaning of the rims and swingarm.

Then it looks as good as new.........

tot u asking abt how to clean e blue lube fo e tire n rims right?

use brasso no prob.. did it n tried n it does remove.. WD40 also can.. rem for ur rims not ur chain.

as for chain can jus sue tissue to wipe e exterior parts.. n then use 4T to lube it..

as time goes e blue lube will "drop-off"..

Hi all,

juz wanna regard to super fours having the same grinding sound from the chain and the rear sprocket...

have been noticing it starting from ver S, vtec, spec 2 and surprisingly even the new spec 3 too...

recently saw a FY plate spec 3 clutching-in and coasting to a stop at a traffic junction... very obvious grinding sound coming from the rear sprocket...

dunno is it a trend or wat but super fours kinda have that noisy chain problem...

can it b solve?

overall super fours is a damn solid 400cc bike regarding of its versions

any comments?
