Three lane road near Sentosa. I'm on the fast lane. By car, not bike. Lanes are not merging so there is no real reason to change lanes. Car in the middle lane wants to cut into my lane but there is no space. He cuts anyway. I horn but don't brake. He keeps coming and I don't give way so we touch.

We both stop. My front left scratched. His right back scratched. Both maybe 500 damage at a local paint shop. We exchange phone numbers and both make pictures.

I texted him that if he pays my damage I consider the case settled. He replied that we both should pay our own damage. Alternative is to file report and let insurance sort things out.

I feel I had the right of way. I was in my lane and there was no space. He forced his way. True I did not back off but I also don't want to get muscled by a big black BMW who thinks he can have his way.

So who's at fault here? I mean what will insurance decide?

Any ideas how to handle this?

I bet your insurance agent loves you, minor incidents that happen because of your ego also wanna claim. Go spray paint at JB la. Half the price.

this is the reason why our roads courtesy will never improved. Also why rider life is always stake. You want to relac and cruise. then go to middle or left most lane.

I dont understand why car driver such as yoursleves find it sooooooo difficult to do so. Ego is sky high. If he can come up fast in the middle lane to overtake you. Let him be. At most he pay fine for speeding. One thing i can never understand. When the roads are smooth. Why do drivers like to cruise 90kph on right most lane? Middle lane and leftmost got ghost?

Surprisingly you want to choke the right most lane and still dont want others to overtake you? that is really bad selfish attitude. If I riding behind, for sure you will get a finger from me.

Brake difficult, give way difficult, I wonder what isn't difficult for them. Sit at the comfort of a metal shell, aircon, music and a cushy seat also not enough. If you're impatient and want to get point A to point B as fast as you possibly can.

Ride a bike, besides if you ride, you won't collide with other vehicles for the fun of it because you had 'right of way', oh yeah, stop tailgating. End of story.

Lol. Precisely. When get into accident. Cry foul. Cry mother and cry father. Pathetic. No standard. Go hospital inflate the charges. Their injuries even more serious than the riders. Gezzz.

I don't sympathise with your situation. Some people are like that, just like in the case of the the BMW driver you had to deal with. Would it have hurt you if you had braked and slowed down by even a metre? I ride and drive on a daily basis, and everyday i practice a give-way policy. I don't wish to impose my practices on you, but all I am saying if we want the road culture to change in Singapore, the change has to come with us.

Ride Free, Ride Hard, and Ride Safe.

Current ride:Hyundai i30 CW (Sept 2016 - Present)

Yamaha FZ1-S (Aug 2014 - Present)

Previous ride: Honda Tiger 200 (Oct 2009 - Jun 2012)

Suzuki GSR 600 (Jun 2012 - Sept 2013)

Hyundai Matrix (Jun 2013 - Aug 2016)

Never did in a single day of riding of my everyday riding where a car did not force their way in into my lane. Everyday there's always a vehicle that refuses to give way, makes little difference, I'd be in front of them the next second anyway.

Lol. I so agreed! The drivers here are sooo dumb and egostic, narrow minded and short vision. They tailgate and force their way. Whats the point? Ahead still jam and slow. Super dumb. lol
