Harley Riders gather

Get a sporty if you're really into it and not cos it's a Harley. If you really want a Harley Harley go for a big vee. A sporty I would say is a class on it's own. Love it or hate it but dun get it as a Harley subsitute cos it's cheaper.

A fair and honest comment - I have been there myself.

Congratulations on your sale Mr. PBS. I will miss your rumble as you pass me. Now I will have to look in my mirrors to see where you are on your new much quieter ride.

Cheers

PBS, sorry I couldn't make it on Sunday man, I didn't know it was your last ride so to say. What's the new ride?

No prob. I didn't know it was mine either but opportunity came knocking, practicality answered the door. I became a passenger on a ride.

It's a TDM 900 :)

We can still ride, just no rumble no roar. hahah

hahaha...

i duno abt tat..

The single most defining feature is the rear suspensions. Softails have a hidden monoshock. Dyna runs a pair of conventional rear springs.

Dyna more powerful than softtail? or just a matter of different design?

If comparing a dyna engine and a softtail engine of the same year, both models puts out pretty much the same numbers. It is the drive train, gear ratios and also sprockets that differs between the dyna and the softtails and of course the frame as well.

Dynas are more rev happy and will be able to have longer 1st and 2nd gears. Soft tails on the other hand are more crusing happy so have very short (almost useless) 1st and 2nd gears. Handling wise, the dyna would defintely have one up against the softtails. (i am referring to both stock machines that is).

Of course you can modify a soft tail to handle better but still, due to the monoshock and frame set up, it wont out handle a dyna.

Depends a lot on your riding style as well as what kind of ride you envisage yourself on. Both are great imho.

Cheers
