if it gonna be as quiet as a stock exhaust i rather stay with my non-baffles 49ers..but at moment it has a short baffle to reduce detection..not as quiet as stock but not as loud as a non baffle

i kinda like it..not loud but a low nice bassy rumble..at least i dont ride with fear and am enjoying my ride knowing that it wont attract unwanted attention..this is what they call the gronk mod in xlforum

All Screamin' Eagles changed to Chicken Stock of course quiet lah ... but I still hear pple revving their hogs around my house!

i got the same setup as well, measured about 86db which should be within inspection standard. What baffle are you using?

ur 49 states totally stock? Cos 883 can sound low n bassy as well

883 stock can sound very bassy also...your stock is the slash cut or the tappered type.. Tappered sound the most bassy. 49 state comes in two types if I'm not wrong. The older evolution era 49state is different from the newer type, the new ones sound bassy but when you drag the sound alittle open crack...the older 49 state is more thinner and the drag is more tight. But of course, the engine and the ratio...cam makes a bit different, found out yesterday. Another rider with the same bike , same engine ( cc ) same set up...one is normal production one CVO...both carb. But the rumbling bass and the tightness of the tone is totally different...the CVO sound much bassy and the crack is much lounder and powerful...My CVO is first batch so the engine not upgraded...only cam and ratio is different...cheers

U wanna change out the tone and volume... Change the cams n retune. One of the ways to mod also... But watch out 4 the valve springs n corresponding components.

same baffle that comes with the 49ers..just that you cut short the baffle after the sealed joint-up area..and enlarge all the holes on the baffles
