Yeah, manual says Shell Advance; but I think cos of tie-up between Ducati and Shell. I went to Minerva and they used Castrol. I think that so long as the 4T satisfy the specs in the manual on viscosity etc, it'll be ok.

 

As for the oil cooler, that is a feature that the 620 and up models have. Same same with the front twin disc. The M400 has one left front disc.

wanna asked sumthing.. monster actually one or two seater ah... how come only like got one seat? where the pillion sitting? dont tell me they share the same seat. surely ball cramp man when stopiing.hehe

Does anyone know how much a pair of mirrors cost?? Is the right side mirror reserved threaded like the Yamaha ones?? Thanks.

I don't think so, cos I've fitted a stock Honda mirror on my Duke before.

 

In fact, I suspect they use the same controls as Hondas, cos my kill switch looks suspiciously similar to a Honda CBR's.

e seat is like s4, its together... pillion sit at e back..

some of them fix cover on their pillion seat so look like 1 seater

Yes, got a cover for the pillion seat, removable with 2 screws. But I understand that the pillion position is not that comfy.

actually you don even have to screw it down... my dad doesn't... and its very firm even though its not screwed down...

 

err... i think the pillion position is ok lah... almost the same as any sports bike lor... definitly not for long distances... hahaha...

ball will not cramp as much as sports bike coz the oil tank is not as predrucing maz

Dunno whether the Mirrors are changeable with all other bikes? But I've seen Super4 mirrors on dukes before. The mirrors got reverse threads, so be careful when you dismantle. Mirrors are "mickey mouse" ears; not that stylish; but quite effective.

italian bikes nid more care for wat i feel...

they r not lousy... its juz dat some owners dun really maintain the babes..

dats y it may got worse...

1st hand ard 14-15k ba... saw one last pcs at minerva.. not sure they really

gg to bring a new one again... used ones must depend on the yr liaoz...

I suppose what u get is wat u sow. Just that a Duke requires more attention just like a beauty queen.

 

i hardly see any monsters on the road. Nowadays, the popular makes are R1s, haya, all jap makes. Even Aprilla is a rare one.

 

One of my colleague had a FQ plate yellow M4. It was in pretty bad shape but still catches everyone's attention. But I've never tried riding one before.

 

If Minerva dun bring in 400, then have to get the 620 Black liao loh... Or stick to 2nd hands. Any idea those on the road now are what yr? heard from neo that FP, FQ ones have electrical problems.

Generally, widely regarded that italian bikes' electrical systems are not as robust as jap bikes. The later years M400s are less problematic as far as engines are concerned, this was told to me by my mech and by a M400 rider too.

 

To me that is natural; even the manufacturers are on a learning curve!!!

 

Having got my duke for bout 2 months now; i'm still learning about it!!!

thanks your replies..... i liked the round 'Mickey mouse' mirrors..... but $98 is a lot for mirrors..... i try the Diverson mirrors and see how they fit...

hmm... actually... i treat all bikes the same lahz.. no matter valk or rap... oso tender wif care... cos i nid them too.. hehe...

but italian bikes r juz special.. its either ppl luv them.. or totally condemn them...

but den.. its addictive ... really...

monster 400 is not rare at all... i got one day c 6 monster 400 in one carpark... i tink i consider more rare... haha...

btw... a monster 620, 800 , 1000 is more rare... so is the S4R...

 

y more ppl prefer to ride jap bikes?? more parts available in singapore... engine some how seems to perform better... price is cheaper... parts may oso b cheaper.. considerin italy side is 3 times our singapore currency...
