Hi, Just wanna ask if I want to buy parts for M400 is it that I can get M600 part as they are the same?

Where can I get parts to bling up M400? as in internet and shop..

Posted

I dont understand why some ppl are very concern about owning a ducati? Of the1+ yr ownership, the cost is really nothing. I spent probably ard 400 bucks over 2 servicing and replacing a few worn items. Ducati runthe same engine oil, the same fuel u put in any other bike. Same tire etc etc... If you crash thats different.

I owned a performance car and alot of ppl say i BS them when i tell them my service bill.. until u own it, u will understand many hearsay are all myths.

Take the plunge.. u will enjoy the ride...

thats precisely it. i need an actual owner or group of owners to tell me that unreliability and ultra-high running costs is nothing more than a myth. i dun trust hearsay from non-owners, dats why i came in here.

and if u're a class 2 ducatisti and u tell me the running cost is not that much higher than my jap sportsbike (minus a crash yes i understand that), then i believe you and thank you for setting the record straight.

i hope i'm not getting people worked up. whats wrong wif asking for owners perspectives? i dun get worked up by frens asking me every in and out of sportsbike ownership, on the contrary i'm happy to help them thoroughly consider if its a plunge they should take.

and the idea of "just do it and dun think about the money" is a dam stupid attitude.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

you all totally ignore me....

Do you all have any website for buying parts??

Aw poor thing. Sorry no one answered your question in your 2.5 hour wait.

Yes, many parts between the 400 and 600 and 750 are interchangeable. What do you want to do to your bike? Or you can try here.

Find good parts to bling here >> http://www.pjsparts.com/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=12

or you can go to http://www.ebay.com and search for RIZOMA or ducati performance. Remember if you buy mirrors, have to get right side reverse ones. Threads are 10mm. Parts for m400, m600/620 and m750 are generally interchangeable unless youre talking engine bits. If not im sure the rest of the guys here are generally helpful.

Cheers

Dreamed I was a muffler. Woke up exhausted.

I suppose owners here are not 'workup' or upset. But when people ask, and we set it straight... yet still more ppl ask the very same questions... imagine doing this like 30-50x.. u get tired.. hence u see not much ppl here will comment on such things anymore. The general mood is, if you are concern about cost, better not ride a duke.. not that it is much more ex to own a duke... just that it require more TLC compared to a jap bike.

I guess when we talk solely on maintence, especially for a brand new bike, it'll be on the low for the first 2-3 yrs since its under warrenty. just basic servicing. and crashes aside.

and that does not include the itchy backside itchy hands.

best is to meet the riders and get a better feel of the whole thing. and you will get various inputs from diff owners.

****. With the money we spent over the decade on cars, we can buy 2 bloody freehold condos. So of cse the costs for the bikes mean nothing!

But on a serious note, I am a repeat Ducati owner. The costs and TLC is not any different from any jap sports bikes.

But for your comment on the GTR, the time is not here yet hahahaha and I ain't biting till today! Though I enjoy the drive.

thank you for all the kind replies and for setting the record straight.

i understand its irritating if ppl keep asking the same question. like how family and frens keep asking me why i bother with a class 2 sportsbike which they deem is a waste of money for an 'excessive bike'. well i wont be happy on a super4 and my shiok on my bike is worth the money, and i just leave it at that.

but i'm always happy to set the record straight for newbies who genuinely considering it. i'm sad to see youths jump into bike ownership all starry-eyed and then later turn into a financial mess.

anyway now i'm seriously considering the m796. based on the helpful replies, i'm now convinced it would be within my means. now i need to consider deeply if i'll regret giving up a razor-sharp jap sportsbike for an italian naked.

thanx all.

I think u can search Youtube for reviews on the bike. The 796 is a improvement from the 696, and the 696 is already consider one of the top contender for the naked bike series among the 600-800cc bikes.

The other highly rated naked bike is the triumph street triple.

Both have its strong selling point. The exhaust note from the termis on the ducatis is orgasmic to say the least. But the vibration from the bike is also something one have to get acustom to..

yeah i read fast bikes mag latest issue, their first ride article on the 796, that was wat lit up a light bulb in my head. the 696 seems lower power and torque than my 600cc inline4, which i dont want coz i wanna trade power for torque when going v-twin, not lose out on both.

and the 1100, well honestly i cant see myself blowing in excess of 30k on a bike, i just cant bring myself to do it.

not interested in triumph coz i rather stay jap than go british.

thanx bro.
