Haha dude my M400 has 9 gears 1/n/2/n/3/n/4/n/5. I realised that you have to be deliberate to go all the way with the gear changes. Maybe because my monster is a 98 model and the clutch plates are prob quite worned.

I rode a M400 1998 before too.

The clutch pump is a b!tch, gave my left hand a good workout everytime too.

But the sound of it, sends tingles all over the body.

the M695/696 is so much nicer and easier to ride.

superb street and fun bike. :)

Slow down abit, smell the air and enjoy the scenery.

Caught the touring bug once again!

I see pavement, a speedometer, a kill switch, and an iPhone 4. No image of a phone mount.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

Can you believe it... I parked my M1100 in the bike park opposite Wheelock Place for about an hour today, on my way out I looked down and was shocked to find some sneaky lowlife thief had stolen the plastic cap off my clutch fluid reservoir!!! The rubber insert was thankfully still there, but I still had a nervous ride home... What is even worse it was probably a fellow biker!!

Hope Minerva carry these, as my zip-tied green milk-bottle cap replacement looks a bit out of place :-(

Motoworld may carry replacements too. The round one I reckon? Those should be easier to get than the coffin-type ones.

Dreamed I was a muffler. Woke up exhausted.

Thanks bro:-) im just worried. Wat should i look for any default? Cause i got one bad experience on beamer it cost me 7K to overhaul aft 2 week of riding. Generally the monster is being quote to me at $13K for 25K millage is it resonable?

A rider is always a rider.....

Thanks Guys, yes the round one. Found a great brand new price on eBay.us problem is they want S$6 for the cap, but $251 for the shipping...  The milk cap is holding up surprisingly well, but will check out Motoworld this Sat if the ebayer does not get back to me before with some more realistic postage.

Check if the 12 and 24k servicing done. valve adjustment plus full service will cost +- 1K if not.

Got the cap sorted today - Just in case anybody else gets caught out, Minerva do them for just $10 a set which is the cap plus the rubber gator.

Hi guys. I didn't ride or start my bike for 1mth plus, and when I tried starting it today the batt as expected was almost flat. And after a few cranks it went totally flat and there was no more cranking. I managed to jump start it using the slopes on the MSCP. But after that there was no crank when I push the start button.

My guess will be either the starter relay or the starter motor. I tried rocking the bike forward and backwards in 1st gear but it doesn't work. how much is the starter relay? Is there any way I can close the starter motor circuit directly to test?

Starter solenoid is on the right side below the fuel tank. Just use a screw driver and tap both the screws. It will short. But u dun need to do that. Turn the ignition if there's lights and when u press the start button there is a "tak tak tak" sound then its working fine.

Check ur charge back voltage and battery voltage. Chances are that either the battery or the rectifier is faulty.

Hey thanks for the quick reply bro. The charge back voltage is good. I can't find the starter solenoid.......

Ok found it, it's under the batt tray. Managed to start after tapping the 2 terminals together. So that means it's the starter solenoid that is damaged? If yes, how much is the replacement and are there any OEM parts avail? Thanks

Minerva - abt $80. U can get the jap equivalent but modding the wiring makes it not worth the effort.

Or purchase of http://www.ca-cycleworks.com
