I dun own an ABS FJR so I wouldn't know but generally, ABS is only active/armed above a certain speed. You have to check the manual or maybe ask HL above what speed is the ABS active.

I have yet to test my FJR ABS. However, I ever activated ABS on a Beemer at slow speeds of 15kph to 20kph on a down-slope of car park. It worked and saved me twice.

I do know FJR's brakes are pretty good - perhaps at 30kph, you may have stopped before the tire can start lock??

my '04 FJR's ABS can be activated at any speed.

Thats not very possible right? Say you are traveling at 3 kph and u jam the brake, ABS will still activate?

Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...

bro, i dun think at 3 km/h, when u jam brake, your bike will skid.

ABS is for when u brake your brakes, when the sensor sense that your wheel is locking, then will acivate.

so bro, did yr rear wheel lock?

it'll have a initial slight lock then go into ABS mode. meaning when sensor sense wheel locking, the brakes will brake intermittently. thus enabling your wheel not to skid.

So how does the sensor know the wheel is locked therefore skidding as compared to when u come in an actual stop? In both cases, the wheel has come to a standstill in the eyes of the sensor. In the former case, the sensor is suppose to tell the pads to let go whereas in the latter, the sensor doesn't but let the pads carry out its job and stop the wheel and therefore the bike. Which is why there is suppose to be some kind of logic, probably the bike speed, which activates the ABS, and not just by wheel motion alone.

sorry. but your explaination quite messy. i dun understand. ABS is never activated by speed. i tried jamming my brakes before at 10km/h to over 150km/h. ABS still works the same.

when the ABS sensor sense the ABS plate stop, but bike is still moving forward, the brakes will go biting intermittently.

I see...

So there will be a sensor that can determine accurately whether the bike is still moving forward anot when the ABS plate (and therefore the wheels) have come to a halt.. Thanks for clarifying.

to better explain, its like when the ABS sense the ABS plate stops but bike not stopping, then the brakes will go biting intermittently to prevent the wheels from skidding.

Dear All

In collaboration with bro gerald, would appreciate if you guys could help us out this simple survey:

PLEASE note that survey is not Internet explorer compatible ( still doable but will see errors). Best used with Mozilla Firefox.

Appreciate your time

Cheers

Paiseh, to probe a bit more, do you know which sensor can determine the bike is still in motion while the ABS plate has already stop?

Any of u guys noe, how much does it cost to change the brake lines to steel-braided ones. With ABS. Like HEL or venhill or other brands. A shop quoted $700 for 7 lines. Is it true?

U tried Vector One? They are the distributor for HEL. I think Unique has a CMO on it. Mine 3 lines, $150.
