major servicing for my kho samui trip this dec 2010. done at southern motor.

 

had this fjr for slightly more than one year. last 2 servicing only changed eo and gear oil. one year travels less than 3000km.

 

now the coming trip will cover 2400km in total.

 

engine oil - $72 (i don't believe in full-sysn)

engine oil filter - $22

gear oil - $8

air filter - $140 (k&n - they say this brand is good but costly, no wonder the brand name sounds like a vulgar word, knn)

spark plugs - $72

coolant - $35

front brake pad - $50

rear brake pad - $45

 

total $444. coe is not the only expensive thing these days.

when coe for cars are too high and more ppl going for bike... who says coe for bike can never cross 5k...

engine oil - $72 (i don't believe in full-sysn) (For this price you can get fully syn, Maxima Extra $18/L DIY though)

engine oil filter - $22 ($14 from AM)

gear oil - $8 (Typical $5 but this is acceptable)

air filter - $140 (k&n - they say this brand is good but costly, no wonder the brand name sounds like a vulgar word, knn) (I think this is the market rate now. I got it for $90 6 yrs back)

spark plugs - $72 (Wat plugs? CR8E cost $6 per piece)

coolant - $35 (With workmanship, this is alright I think)

front brake pad - $50

rear brake pad - $45

 

The pads are dirt cheap. U sure they replaced it? Originals cost $60/pair for the front and $75 for the rear.

 

total $444. coe is not the only expensive thing these days.

06 model onwards require 4 pairs of front and 1 pair of rear. From my memory, Gen II front brake pad costs more per pair than the Gen I's. So its true.

the spark plugs i replaced whatever the type the previous owner use one, they said he use good one uranium or plutonium type law.

 

initially i just want cheap one lah about $36 for 4 pces.
