The trip was awesome ! Not only it was bcos it was my 1st long ride on my fjr but oso bcos of the group I'm wif . Abt the box . . . . if wif pillion surely no problem one ! Me actually wanna use my tank bag but felt like obstruction n chose e top box instead - wrong choice ! The box came in handy on the shopping part though . . . hahaha ! Next trip will try the tank bag .

 

Anyways, when wanna meet up again for a short ride up ?

at that speed, anything or everything oso can fly.

 

my experience with side panniers is that it's more balance at high speed. sori my high speed is 180km/h only.

 

top box, for me a givi rack and givi box 45litre built for my 04 fjr does not hv much issue on stability. other top boxes which requires to drill a hole through may not apply.

 

when travelling at high speed, windshield must be at the lowest or the handle will wobble.

 

OMG high speed must down windshield?? i thought is up winshield?? no wonder i feel wobble.. i hit that speed with my shield fully extended up!!! bo bain le i pillon my wife how to prone down and ride like a sport bike with shield down

Basic dynamics - High speed must be aero dynamic / sleek ! Lucky nothing happen to u during ur ride at such fast speed ! Abt 2 yrs ago . . . A fren from KL was riding his brand-new fjr at speed excess of abt 230 km/h otw to Cameron wif his wind-screen fully extended when it snapped n broke into 3 pieces ! One piece hit him on the face(lucky wearing full face) , one piece flew back n hit my front fairings n cos a 8 cm chip ! Another piece flew off to unknown direction .

i know about that basic air dynamic but fjr build the function of that up and down wind shield they should hav think of it too when high speed with fully extended shield.

Count ur lucky stars bro . . .

 

Anyways , with the windshield fully up usually meant for crusing speed say . . . ard 130 km/h max ! Above dat speed the shield will start to shake n rattle . . . just waiting to flex .

 

As for my fren . . . he was just asking for trouble when he travel at speeds above 200 plus wif the shield fully up !

Its always the case...thats why when I decided to buy the bike, I ask the bike shop to show me the bike...I bought it but bikeshop condition is the side pannier will come 2 weeks later...but I waited abt a month for the side pannier...that time I also very TL...but no worries, once you get it...you will forget the painstaking moment of waiting.

 

Then you will start to TL why u dont have the time to ride...wahaha...(just joking)..

1) Change only end cad will not alter the FC...but what I heard was that it will lose top end speed but better acceleration. Your choice..I stll comtemplating this changing thingy...if you read the earlier thread...I can get Leo Vince at good price ( hopefully is good )..any FJR can get cheaper let me know..

 

2) I guess this depend on your size and riding posture ya? I'm good with stock.

During my last trip up North...240km/h with fully loaded side panniers....I rode bending down llike sportbike behind the shield...shield was down...straight road no problem...I only face slight wobble well closing throttle to reduce speed...I find myself too light and short for the bike...sigh!! I dont experience an upright sitting position like most riders do..

 

Nevertheless....its fun riding FJR isnt it??? Shiok with only minor discomfort which can be ignored..

 

Bro how u not face slight wobble...have u consider ur height n weight??...u dont experience an upright position bcos ur height n the wind sheild is almost the same...LOL

Bro its normal...same as mine...i was told that i can collect the bike within 2 weeks but darn they extend till just aft 3 weeks...but worth the wait!!!
