Thanks Bro for the reply! I am intending to get one, but only worry abt the seat height as I'm short. Do u have any idea what is the current 2nd hand price range?

the seat can be adjusted. not sure 2006 model and before but my 09' can be adjusted. from high to low position.

Hi, I'm very interested in getting a FJR1300A as my second bike for touring purposes. I've read up quite abit on the bike but yet to source from shops as I think it's better I ask from the seniors here before I get carrot at shops. So, to start off with,

1) What is the common market price for the FJR1300A, both first or second hand?

2) I noticed that though it's a sports touring bike, it's only got 5 gears in it. I thought that having a 6th gear would mean a smoother ride?

3) Does Singapore's FJR1300A come with the promised side boxes and, can each of the side box fit a FF helmet or I need to get the rear box?

4) Lastly, got main stand or not ah? o_O

Your help will be greatly appreciated guys!

I can answer some of these:

2) I guess having a 6th gear means a smoother ride at high speeds. I haven't ridden anything with 6 gears very much so it's difficult for me to compare.

3) I'm pretty sure any FJR in Singapore comes with side panniers. Unless you're buying second hand and the previous owner had them stolen or lost them somewhere on a tour. They easily fit a full-face helmet.

4) Main stand also have.

The bike redlines 9K rpm at about 250kph in 5th gear. It would be great to have a sixth gear but thats how Yamaha wants it so we got no choice.

250kph may be a bit slow compared to sports bike but its pretty smooth till then if everything is in good shape.

Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...

i sold mine to shop for $19500 for a 2009 bike with full accessories.i supposed it is still at shop.

i not sure if u r refering to the semi auto transmission one, if i rem correctly sg only got less then 10..6 to be exact.

can fit full face easily.main stand comes with it.do practice caution when releasing bike down from main stand.is a very heavy bike.

parking can be a issue on slope n tight space but when u love it all this doesnt matters!

As far as I know, an FJR1300 is manual while an FJR1300A is the automatic version.
