Speaking about that, just witness an accident happening right in front of me today around 6.50~7.00pm on AYE towards Clementi... A wave-type bike and an RXZ.

Think there was another bike which skidded behind me, but the rider got up quickly and rode off.

Moral of the story, when the roads are wet, don't over-estimate your bike's grip + braking ability. Hope those two riders are well.

mine is air horn

Then i think my cable loosen or battery weak.

When i press and hold my horn...It goes like this 'POHHHHHHHHHH.....Puuuuuu.....poooo...then no more' So embarassed.

if its not your battery.. must be your relay.. i myself experienced it.. some shops just take short cut and didnt bother to do the wiring of the relay properly.. thus causing your horn to drain electricity directly from your battery.. in long term it either flat your battery or spoil it in the event the horn sot. advice you to get your wiring of the horns checked?

well... the most dangerous vehicle on the road is not the car... it's BICYCLE.... toooooot.... People who does not drive or ride pin-pointed that cyclists must be on the road.... Dunno for you guys but for me, I WISH THEY ARE OFF THE ROAD!!!!! D= (poor cyclists....)

IMO,its safer to split lanes than to 'crawl' with the cars. When 2 cars r side by side, they actually hav lesser or no chance of swerving to left/right becox its very obvoius to them that theres a car beside them. The only thing is that the 2 cars may unintentionally converge, which will 'trap' bikes in between.

Also IMO,when u travel in a lane or behind a car in a crawling speed.Driver will c us as a opening to change lane (correct me if I'm wong).

Lastly IMHO,its actually more dangerous to split lanes but travel at the same speed of the general traffic(cars) if not, slower than the traffic. There will be some parts during a 'crawling' traffic that the speeds gets slightly faster. And when the cars accelerate (assuming u r slower or the same speed),they will be like overtaking u in very close proximity. Its easy for u to swerve to avoid them, but its nt the same for cars to avoid u when u make sudden change in direction without noticing that they are trying to overtake u.

However..there r many different riders on the road with different kind of thinking. One cant expect everyone to tink alike and hav the same riding skills.Once again, its no ones fault, whether its the rider riding slowly while lane splitting or the rider gets pissed off by another rider..When accidents happens, the person who's goin to suffer is ur loved ones who is waiting for u @ home..

This post was actually fr another thread by me..also in bikes and bytes...mayb u ppl cld read up too...

I ride in between 2 cars only on expressways.. in neighbourhoods im not confident enuff even after 8 mnths of riding n i only stay behind a car.. esp when making right turns.. its easier to ride between cars on d divider on expressways ONLY when d traffic is slow moving.. esp on CTE everytime.. Other than that stay inside a lane we d traffic is normal.:cheer:

Eh.. no lar. D one im talkin abt is d dividers .. dotted lines dat separate lane 1 from lane 2 .. and lane 2 from lane 3.. or shud i call it lane markings? Ermm.. Road shoulder try to avoid it unless frm Sle to BKE.. D Exit.. peak hrs jam.. den go on road shoulder.. make sure no TP around ;p

Posted

that's called lane markings.. i never ride on road shoulders because there are "eyes" everywhere..

especially today i saw a TP riding next to me.. at first i thought it just one of the bikers, riding along expressway. i was at lane 2 and from lane 1, suddenly a QX drove past me.. expressway patrol car.. then i glanced to right to see this bike behind QX as this rider keep travelling at the same speed as me,(thank god only 80kmph) i know it was something like gilera runner.. then suddenly ride past me and i saw the word "police" on his helmet and the bike plate.....TP6XX..... i was like duh. all along i thot TP only ride in "white"...

so i have a question, so TP also got plainclothes TP?? stressed man..

Posted

Yes TP also in plainclothes. Eyes everywhere but as long as you ride legal speed it does not matter.

For me, I have to ride between lanes on CTE to town. That is the main reason I don't want to ride a big bike which cannot go between cars. CTE almost jam. My avg speed is 80-100kph depending on the traffic flow. Try to ride with the flow. Always be aware of what others will do around you. Even at the back. Anticipate what they will do and avoid any possible accident. Have powerful lights and powerful horns(Nautilus airhorn). Ride according to how you "feel". Sometimes if I am tired, I will just go slow and follow slow moving traffic in lane2 all the way(safe distance). I think car/lorry drivers will try to bully us depending on the size of your ride. If they see small boy on small bike riding in center lane they will disturb. If they see older gentlemen on bigger bike, riding on center lane, they will have some respect. What do you think?

I like to use my airhorn and highlight on speeding vans/lorries. They almost always slow down thinking it's plainclothes TP. My chance to disturb them. LOL. I try to avoid riding on road shoulder. Used to get regular puncture when I was on SuperFour. Too much rubbish there like screws and nails and broken metal pcs.

Sorry for writing too long. Also everyone ride differently and have different opinions. Someday I may also change my riding habits.

Happy and safe motorcycling.

You mean a gilera runner look-a-like TP auto bike with the TP wearing a blue uniform?

I think it's a TP dispatch biker... Cos if he/she is a TP on duty, his/her uniform is usually white in colour... Especially for the auto scooter type, usually is a she in white uniform... If you see a he on a auto scooter, usually he is doing some dispatch chores...

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

ic, but if there's any traffic offenders, will he be able to catch as well? Nevertheless, he's still TP right.. not a despatch rider right?

He's from HQ TP. He can discharge his duties as a normal police officer. Usually is a NSF. Unless really need to like accident, he'll be expected to stop and discharge his duties as normal police officer.

That was probably a TP Honda Spacy scooter.

Women TP officers ride the Spacy and do everything else a TP enforcement officer does.

thanks bro for clearing my doubts. Actually I know lah, that's always to ride safely 24/7. Let's just make the road a route, not a route to meet god..

Thanks bro for ur advices. Your experience is never too long as advice

Somehow I got to change my "rider's mindset" although I'm still new, I tend to get the feel of speeding. Nevertheless, I value life alot, so got to ride responsibly.

Happy riding too

Blue uniform with white bike are from Regional Divisional HQs. There is a TP unit stationed in each HQ and they sometimes wear their blues and conduct duties even though they have white uniforms like the TP main unit. So yeah. as long as they are on a TP bike. they will get u. :cheeky:

Keep witnessing people skid in front of me.... Got another biker on a Wave-type of bike slow-skid along Clementi Ave 6 towards AYE from PIE this morning.

Was about to stop behind him to help but he got up quickly and pull his bike up when I reached. Guess he wasn't injured bah.
