Hello all.

just an update,

just finished the fork swap…

one word:

F A N-B L O O D Y-F U G G I N-T A S T I C.

feels comfortable, confidence boosting... no more upper body workout, no more twitches, turns more stable, can slam on the brakes, can LEEEEEANNNNNN, can cure cancer, nice golden color...

WOOOHOOO!..

but the front fender is mounted a bit odd now.

also changed the lever mounts, so had to dispose of the donkey ear antenna mirrorso_O .

now have some funny plastic lollipop mirror which gives a fantastic view of my wrists & sleeves.

all in... unbelievable...fwoooh:slurp: still fiddling with the settings... anybody? ideas?

636 '06 fork (ebay)

636 '05 calipers (ebay)

636 '05 clutch (ebay)

zx10 '04 master pump (sbf forum-er)

zx10 '04 shock (sbf forum-er)

The whole swap for the front end took about 6 hours. Removal was easy, did it alone. A buddy came over to give me a hand for the installation. Done at the mscp washing bay by D I Y Engineering Public Unlimited.

All in no problems at all once had proper tools and parts ready.

view from the cockpit:

anyone notice anything missing?

when i was done, like yaya happy **** doing housekeeping...skali see... forgot to put back the meter shroud. still havent put it. do it later.

zx10 '04 brake pump and lever. Reservoir is xyz brand. line is grey 15 bar hydraulic hose (14.5 bars more than sufficient) Reservoir mount is custom from 3mmX18mm aluminium flat bar.

The right side. Easy slot in. Using z kilo axle spacers on the 636 axle. the mudguard had to be custom made to fit. Notice the 636 mudguard mounts are slightly lower. The custom mounts are from the same aluminium flat bar 3mmX18mm. Easy to shape.

The left side. ran the brake hose down the left first, Then branch out to the right. slightly different than the usual, but hey.. this is a kwak z kilo here.

The left even more snug. Thank god for inventing digital verniers..

tokico's from a 636 '05. The only messy part was bleeding the calipers... Using the swage hoses I had on the original calipers. New banjo washers. New pads. Forgat what brand from FJT. Held on using carbon steel hex head high tensile machine bolts from hardware shop. 60mm X 10mm X 1.25mm pitch. They are different from manufacturer spec therefore the specified torque values dont apply. Hand tightened them on 2mm flat washers. The washers act as dampers, keeping the screws tight and more importantly from snapping. Touchwood.

zx10 '04 monoshock. Did this swap a few weeks ago. Unscrew the old, screw in this one. 15 minutes. This thing holds the bike down like an anchor.

The mudguard doesnt look too odd. Have to see it up close to notice anything suspicious.

from a tp/rov point of view. "hey! only one?" Notice the lollipop mirror. good view of the wrist, partial view of road median and lousy to spot tp. great for neck muscle & back twists exercises though.

The new suspension is a big improvement over stock. I'm no rossi, not even a mat rempit, but the bike can really corner now.

Hi, I believe the Kawasaki Z1 refers to the 900cc 4 into 4 exhaust pipe series starting from about 1972 to 1976. Are there such bikes here? Never seen one on the road.
