hey elton... will the IU be "underpowered" if 9v is applied instead of the usual 12v?

seems like a cool idea. i din noe it can work on battery. always tot i haf to use 9v in series with 2 x 1.5v battery then can work.

Where do you walk? How can you cross under the gantry unless you walk sideways :cheeky:

The best solution we should not use our bikes in Singapore when the ERP is in operation. Take public transport. The government is encouraging it... we have to follow. :giddy: :nono:

Take note peeps, i have been using 9V battery for my IU since i gotten my bike because i hardly use it. So i only bring it out when i know i need it(i always plan my journey).

From my experience, the 9V battery cannot last continous usage, which means you must disconnect the power as soon as you past the gantry, if not the battery will drain super fast. It probably will not last you through more than 10times of passing through the gantry. Each battery is about $2.00, divide by 10 is $0.20 each time you use to past the gantry. This is my rough estimation because i hardly use my IU, probably less than 5times in 2years of riding current bike. Bottomline is, it will drain the 9V battery.

My advise : Do not use 9V battery if you use your IU frequently! Stay with your own bike power supply, make a reconnectable plug yourself and tap power from your own bike.

Great idea! Thanks for sharing. Been thinking about this for ages.

i share something with you also here, about IU unit.

Do not disconnect from the power source for too long, once its disconnected from the power source, the IU run on internal battery, not for operation but for its memory, you might not noticed but once the internal battery run out, your IU unit can throw liao, because LTA don't offer reprogramming of IU.

Don't have to ask me how i know. ;pp
