even some of the stock bikes will backfire

tdy juz saw a FBB plate X1 OTR backfired twice softly when slowing down for traffic lights

:giddy:

true!my fren's x1 too..i wonder why!he's puzzled over it but wen he asked his mechanic, dat guy mentioned dat its normal for x1.he even changed to a new spark plug but all e same!lol..:cheeky:

That's a very good and effective for the loudest one...

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

Here is my tips.

I remember the last time I did a backfire, I pour some petrol into the exhaust pipe, then I starts my bike with least throttling. When ready to backfire, kill the engine switch, turn the throttle full, wait for few seconds then switch it on again. I got a loud backfire & a burning flame on my exhaust to burn some carbon & fiber too. Now my exhaust sounds bassy but not too loud. The sound would some attract attention & also can pass ROV test. You can try it out.

a colleague of mine told me that when he wanted to clear carbon from his pipe, he removed it from his bike and set the insides on fire by pouring the inside with petrol and igniting it.

till now i thought he was ****ing with me.

unless you are ****ing with me too?

i decarbonize my exhaust with my weekly trips across the border. :/

i'm using wave and my bike always backfire, my friend even called it GP. lol! it normally happen when i am slowing down. it actually make me shock sometimes.

Posted

Its true that X1 backfires alot. I myself get shock when i first rode it. Always backfire when slowing down.

However, this can be reduced. Service air filter, carb and decarbonised pipe. Now i rarely get backfire..

Softly is accepted...

Those that let off a pants-dropping "BANG!" should really get banged in the head.... Not only its irritating, it can cause quite a rude shock to passerbys... What if some frail old guy happens to have a weak heart? Congrats for killing someone with your bike without ever touching him/her....

is e X1 using aftermarket exhaust? if yes den e "backfire" is a natural thing. esp for bike with aftermarket exhaust

To some... natural is abnormal when they know what is the cause.

Putting on a freeflowing aftermarket exhaust without doing rejetting is purely asking for overheating engines, glowing exhaust headers, burnt valves and warped cylinder heads.

Aftermarket with their lesser restrictions ( read as noise) allow the cylinder cross scavenging to be more effective which means more fresh charge from carb or air inlet side is drawn in during the downstroke of the piston.

Having more air rushing in...and yet the same stock fuel jettings used will result in a more air than fuel mixture... aka lean.

Lean mixtures result in poor burning or explosive burning that continues to burn when the exhaust valves are opened thereby resulting in backfire which leads to overheating and all the fun stuff mentioned in the second paragraph.

All these should not be a problem if your pockets are deep and wallet obese. Let the noise begin!!

easiest way. Thong your exhaust but i dunno wat bike you are riding so dunno if its worth to try on your bike. Then tune your RPM a little low. When riding wack at higher RPM then slow down, let it simmer to lower RPM and gently throttle abit and the POMP sound will come out. Last time use to ride my Super Magna and its making hellava arrival when reaching Punggol kopitiam. I think the whole kopitiam knw that bike and frens did complaint that they had a shock tot who is going to rob them. Then up tune my RPM higher which produces less POMP sound.

You want to have the POMP sound very loud and thinking of changing ride then look up for my old bike which is on sale by the new owner. But i figure he dun really knw how to do it. :p

i believe TS gotten the " i also wanna try, and want it even better" syndrome..

when i first got my 4 stroker, i also wanna learn to do backfire..

after learning all the damages that it'll do to my wallet.. i always wanna reduce it..

these are noise pollution.. loud pipes sound much better if they are not backfiring..

wanna try the real loud one, try restricting your air intake and full throttle.. do until your headers turn glowing red then engine kill it and turn it back in 3secs or more..?

prepare cash..

Backfire by reving the engine high rpm and using the kill switch is really unhealthy. Dont be shocked if your exhaust header/manifold crack due to the loud bang. Those big bikes you see,i dont think they do that way. Its more of afterfire.

This is caused due to the engine running rich in momentarily during deceleration or downshift. The unburnt fuel gets ignited somewhere in the hot exhaust.(If i'm not wrong nearest to the exhaust tip coz there's where exhaust meets air).
