The following release is from Harley-Davidson:

HARLEY-DAVIDSON TO ACQUIRE MV AGUSTA GROUP EXPANDING PRESENCE IN EUROPE

Italian Company Known for Premium, High-Performance Motorcycles

Milwaukee, Wis., July 11, 2008 -- Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HOG) today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to purchase the Italian motorcycle maker MV Agusta Group (MVAG). Under the agreement, Harley-Davidson will acquire 100 percent of MV Agusta Group shares for total consideration of approximately 70 million euros ($109 million), which includes the satisfaction of existing bank debt for approximately 45 million euros ($70 million). In addition, the agreement provides for a contingent payment to Claudio Castiglioni in 2016, if certain financial targets are met. MV Agusta Group is privately held, with the Castiglioni family owning 95 percent of MVAG shares.

The acquisition is expected to close in several weeks, pending the satisfaction of contingencies and receipt of regulatory approvals. Harley-Davidson intends to fund the transaction primarily through euro-denominated debt.

MV Agusta Group has two families of motorcycles: a line of exclusive, premium, high-performance sport motorcycles sold under the MV Agusta brand; and a line of lightweight motorcycles sold under the Cagiva brand. MV Agusta’s F4-R motorcycle, powered by a 1078cc in-line four-cylinder liquid cooled engine, is rated at 190 hp. The company sells its products through about 500 dealers worldwide, the vast majority of them in Europe. In 2007, MVAG shipped 5,819 motorcycles. During 2008 MVAG has significantly slowed production due to financial difficulties.

As I have previously experienced, it's a mistake to go and look at a bike that you might love. Because when you fall in love with it... that bike is rhyming poetry on two wheels. Fine art on speed steroids. (But where would the ERP unit go to not spoil its lines, like graffiti on the Mona Lisa...).

If only I knew where I was going to be working for a least a year... trouble is, if I get moved anywhere outside of Singapore going north it's not a bike that would survive being transplanted...

Its really nice to see the MV in the Dark Knight!!

Batman's choice on 2 wheels.

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

Ain't no guru, just a decent rider on the road.

Didn't had that problem so far.

But I do have issues of bike stalling when waiting up on traffic light some 1 years ago. But the problem went away after a full service done by bringing down the engine apart and change most of the wear and tear parts.

Was it the bike is under usage?

Good luck and ride safe.

Cheers!

something lidat...it was like cruising along the highway at about 5K rpm 5 gear then clutch in wanting to downshift the rpm drop to almost zero and stalled, just release the clutch and it fired up again..

3yr old bike with 3500km on the meter...i guess its pretty under utilised. when i first got it, found that the fuel hose is leaking have since change that. will sent in for a service and monitor the situation further.

Bro,if not wrong i think it normals, unlike most jap bike the engine wont stalled even when we downshift the rpm & open throttle:angel:

Mb we must treat our Mv more gently in future & dont bring our previous jap bikes riding methods to our current bike or else something bad might happen:)

I might be wrong too if that not the case:angel:

Looks like you gotta uplift the fuel tank and replace the fuel line which is "L" shape. http://mvfaq.blogspot.com/2005/09/fuel-line-fittings.html

They're not expensive but it's a known issue that the plastic fitting tends to break easilly.

The mech should be able to take care of it within minutes "if" they have the parts.

Cheers!
