No not disasterous very decent buys but they are for a lack of a better word too mild not to say they are not fast the power delivery is too smooth there is no grunt so to speak but i can see why ppl like a smooht bike and not something that roars its personel pref thats all i hope i am not being offending...

Well it's personal preference alrite, depending on the way you ride.

for me, i went for the cbr because i found it a very mysterious bike. There's just something to it that i cant explain. Maybe due to its history. Its weird looks. Or its sound that is so pleasent to the ears.

2 months of owning it and im still craving to ride it every moment i can. hearing its jet like smooth engine sound always drives me crazy. got to admit its very addictive. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. whoo damn shiok.

10+ years old and still puts a smile on my face everytime i ride.

gsx 400rr gives u smooth engine and nice exhaust sound..and smooth ride plus good handling at high speed.. initially back break but after a while u can't get enough of riding it..

i also contemplated of buying a cbr400 with the impression that suzuki old bike are not as good as honda... but seriously, fact of matter is, if the bike is old, naturally age probs are inevitable..

honda parts lasts longer? thats what my mechanic also says.. but i think at the end of the day it boils down to whether u trust honda or suzuki..

for me, i trust neither, rather i look at the aestetics of the bike.. outside nice normally means that the owner takes pride in the bike.. hence takes care of the maintainance as well.. but of coz, thats very subjective on what u define as good maintainance..

Its better to think for a minute than to talk crap for an hour. Better talk crap for an hour than to keep quiet the whole day..

Do u ever wonder why there is a HUGE price difference between CBR and G4?

CBR riders spend few K higher just to eat G4 DUSTt ?

Then sure something wrong on that "particular "CBR.

From my own opinion.

1. CBR fork is better then G4, yes it can be done nicely too.

2. CBR with reliable engine, when i was riding G4 in early 2K's ive witness many of my friends G4 died with unable to repair or not worth it to repair condition. If u got one which last longer for more then 2 yrs then ure lucky for a sweet engine

3. G4 nice with the exhaust scream sound which in turn make CBR to be in illegal.

4. The pleasure off hitting 12k RPM in nice compare to CBR which need to push a bit harder.

5. The rest is able to done with some $$$ in hand.

i personally like the CBR more cause of the engine and handling. Ive rode 1 GSX and 3 CBR 400 up to date. RVF is not my preferences tough.

i can summarize that people go for G4 cause in their mind what they need is a 1-2 year temp money worth sport bike that can run in hand with other 400 lines.

How many G4 riders can ride their G4 up to Thailand and back with not a single problem , raise hand please. Ive invited a g4 friend to Phuket ride with my CBR but he is not confidence on his bike reliabilities.

the cbr4 and gsxr4 forks are both made by showa! the gsxr4 has upside down the cbr rwu. Gsxr4 better forks (cartridge type if sp)

I have had my gsxr 2 years now and i have one with 45000 miles on it and still strong. against my friends cbr4 with 15000 miles that just had to have new pistons because the bores were worn!

Also in 1989 in the japanese TT F3 racing the vfr and cbr was always top of the racing tables then in 1990 the gsxr400rlsp was released and then for 4 years was unbeaten. The gsxr400rl was producing 78hp with no internal engine modifications. It was just bolt on power! And yes i can prove this!

i can give you a list of the mods to do to produce 78hp. Mine is currently running 70hp with an air filter, exhaust can and exhaust headers and re-jet.

In the UK the cbr400 is worth the same resale as the cbr400. It used to be the cbr400 with a higher resale but the cbr prices are falling very quickly as they dont seem to be lasting out anymore and problems are getting larger.

If you are a gsxr400 owner i would recommend that you have the cam chain tensioner, valve shims checked and set and a good quality oil(semi synthethic) put in! This will ensure a longer lasting engine and higher performance.:thumb:

Our Gixer which art in heaven

Hallowed be thy ride

Thy wheelies come.

These will be done on earth, as is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from honda, kawasaki and yamaha

For Gixer is the kingdom

and the power

and the glory

for ever.

I rode my NC29RR for 2 years 3 months, not a single problem with the engine. Only had to replace wear and tear parts.

Drag with an RVF w/yoshi muffler... CBR leads after 3rd gear. Done at 2nd link

Oh, and I was the 6th owner...

I think whether which bike is good or bad depends on the rider. wats e riding style n which posture suits better.

the bike can be damn solid but if the rider cannot bring out the best of it, the bike still look normal nia.

Acceleration power is not important than a good perfect braking system to prevent an accident.

don compare too much. Cos too much comparison, after u get the bike, theres bound to be some regrets or watsoever.

Jus follow your feeling. But if its financially, then get a G4, however, :goodluck: to u. If financially no problem n if u like cbr, then get it. :goodluck: to u also.

I've got myself a cbr400rrR. No second thoughts. ONLY want cbr400. lol

i owned CBR400 RRL before in d 1st xperience of riding a 400... im staying in malaysia and i get to go awana every weekend to push tis bike..

personally i felt d cbr 400 handles much better in turn than d gsxr( i own d 400RP model now)..i could do watever i want and it seems very rider friendly... my friend who had never knee down b4 got his knee down on his 1st xperience on my cbr....

power wise.... the cbr had better low n mid range compare to my gsx...high rpm it climbs slowly... even though with dynojet ,k model carb n slip on...only midrange improved.. nothing great happened neither...but d handling is superb...and d design wise... personal opinion it doesnt look good...so i customize d whole bike's coverset and cbr tends to overheat easily...spent alot of money to sort tis out...

gsxr400 rp i run it on sepang .... handling.. loose far frm cbr bcuz d tank position, footrest position doesnt suit me... i had very bad lap time....but d straights n gear ratio are superb for tis G4.....d high rpm is very great if u had done d pipings n jettings....tats my personal opinion la... but if i were to choose again ....i wil choose d cbr400 RL for my joy of riding..
