I also kena my header recently... going down a kerb and kena the header... Not only flattened, there seem to be a deep puncture.. I can't exactly see or feel if there's a hole in there but its pretty bad...

Question:

1. If there's a small hole on the exhaust header, would we be able to feel it? As in, when we rev, will it feel different or affect the bike in any way?

 

2. Is patching at Seng Kwang the ONLY way?

it means u have to change to a full-system :lovestruck: :lovestruck: . how can u hit the exhaust belly when u have a belly pan?? a photo to illustrate..

eh... the belly pan only cover the from part of the header (the part where it bends in).... so the middle portion still exposed..... :cry:

tink when cool liao u try feel loh. if got lobang, when u rev, e sound will b much louder n hollower, as in open stomach, but if small hole i tink u cant hear or feel e diff bah.

muz hab go pass e curb quite fast spd 2 hab such a dmg. :mad:

Ya the speed was a bit fast...cuz its quite dark and my fren leading me through short cut ...He went down through the slope of the kerb, I didn't see and went down the entire kerb...one be bang and my heart crack.... :cry:

 

Anyway, it won't affect anything right? If not big prob, maybe I'll just spray with high temp paint....

2 stroke and 4 stroke same function in the exhaust outake system ???

 

and i dun get the whole story ...

slow u turn then header scratch ???

 

the ride fast hump header dent scratch ???*this story makes sense *

when corner left will kena footpeg, but rite corner, will kena stomach. coz stoopid stomach bigger n lower den my footpeg.:mad:

this one more doesn't make sense ...

skid plate on the scrammies be it 2 strokes and 4 thumpers they fix it on the frame ...

its to protect the engine casing from getting hurt from all the ruts and stones ...

i NEVER know skid plate are meant to protect HEADERS(for thumpers) and chamber(for 2 strokes) ...

 

i still don't get both stories above ...

with the additional skid plate ...

anyone here de-cat their header or thinking of doing?

 

i'm one who is interested.. heard after de-cat will be smoother, noise nicer and abit more powerful ba..

gd morning to you.

 

actually in the last 72hrs, i tot of doing de-cat header. i did my research, talk to shahrul n afew guys n mechs abt the performance. i heard 2 bikes, who did this, on the road. i also know where to do it in s'pore.

 

verdict: it's very loud, pick-up very gd, no more mid-range and $500 summon.

 

alternative: custom built chrome 4-1 header, pb1 header cannot fit in vtecs.

 

i may consider the 4-1 header after i renew COE n do some minor bike repair

at my house got this version s who de-cat his header with stock exhaust. everytime, i know it was his bike which pass by my house even at slow speed. u can see the different in the welding of the header. very easy to spot one.

 

mechs will cut the header, remove the cone restrictor n weld back the header. it's 1/2 or 1 day job.

 

there is pick-up, midrange n top speed. how to describe midrange i'm not sure.. let others define midrange. to me(i might be wrong), the acceleration from 100-160km/h is called midrange
