What do you use to polish the paint work? Cos it's like plastic...does "white" work?

I saw one at the motortiam in Bukit timah, Lee Huat motors if I am not wrong, a blue one to be exact, but I never had the chance to check the price out. There is a DNA meeting on saturday! Cool! Think I will be free, but might be busy as I have to go to Mandai to choose a niche for a family member who just passed on, so I can't confirm as of yet.

Having a problem with my DNA now, she is peeling! Her paint is coming off. Sighz...

Cheers guys...

Says 2 and 4 stroke. On the box, anyway, think I have to do some heavy work on my DNA, as she still gives problems:

1) Leaks when I pump gas.

2) She is very jerky when I move the bike off from stationary. Like at a traffic light moving off.

3) Her idling RPM at 2000! Really affecting fuel consumption and heats up the engine real fast.

4) Exhaust pipe, thinking of getting something non-scooter looking, but not really keen in something expensive or troublesome, especially with the LTA.

Cheers...

Hmm....the leaking when pumping gas.... me too.... but that's not so much of a prob.... maybe cos i've gotten used to estimating... haha....

The jerking definitely has something to do with the 2000rpm idling....gotta do sthing fast before anything bad happens...

Exhaust pipe.....hmm....i'm not so good at that....sorry... :p

Aiya... Dun be fooled by my siggy... Ha, 90% of time its dirty (cos too busy at work, can't maintain it)!!

I use a type of liquid wax. VERY good for paintwork... Shines and protects. I can't rem the brand, I'll update when I get home (now still slogging at work)..

BTW what's 'white'???

Hey guys, you guys should really go fix the tube asap you know?? It'll be dangerous.. Cos there'll be petrol fumes, if ignited.... :giddy: :giddy: .. If you get what I mean..

That time I also estimated.. But didn't 'correct' my estimation of fuuel left, thought I could've last till the nearest pump. But it failed me... I had to push her dunno how many miles away... damn..

Doesn't cost exactly that much getting it done at Botak... He did mine, so surely now very experienced on that prob..

Cheers

Hmm..."White" is like a white(obviously....hehe) powdery wax...

Usually to wax white colour cars... like a wipe-on-wipe-off type....

just have to "bua" a bit on a sponge, wipe onto the car, then wait for awhile before wiping it off with a clean cloth....

Just that I'm not sure if it works on plastic though.....

Hmm....do update me on the brand you use okie.... Thanks!

Cos....my helmet compartment cover starting to have scratches..... quite heart pain....hehe

Hmm...okie....think i'd better go fix it tmr then....

but Piaggio is on lunch time from 1-2pm....hard to find time....

Just mention that the overflow pipe leaking correct?

Hmm....after fixing, the petrol pump nozzle should "jump" when full correct?

The jerking prob to me sounds like the usual sign most scoots display.. It should be the belt.. Maybe tension or something.. (Im not so good at scoots mechs...)

Mine also got the 'prob'.. As with quite a few VXRs... But its not anything major la.. So if you can get used to it, just leave it lor.. If you go bike shop, they'll most prolly tell you everything's fine; can't find the prob...

It seems like its affecting me differently dependant on what set-up I use (pipes, jetting etc..) On an all stock bike, its non-existent... I suppose its the power delivery as well..

All the abv guesswork, cos like Ive said, Im not so good at it..

Contrary to what spidey said, I believe the 2KRPM idling is not the idling screw prob.. When you have a leaky fuel hose, it'll display the same symptom.. Fuel lean-out due to air entering the fuel hose.. And/ or a dirty carb with stuck jets will display this symptom as well.. Diff is, a dirty carb's symptoms goes on and off once awhile, while a leaky fuel hose is always present... And will aggravate by displaying more symptoms like bike not idling correctly, die-off etc..

Sorry to say, there's no cheap, DNA compatible, doesn't rust, looks good and most importantly—road legal zorst avail here leh... All road legal pipes cost a limb.. Cos its very costly to get all the documentation, approval (both manufacturer and sg supplier), etc done.. So translate to costs lor..

Sorry fot the lenghty post. Hope it helps...

I dunno what's the exact term for the pipe... You can describe to him your prob.. They'll know.

I'll describe it as the hose that's about 3/4 inch thick, that's attached to the main fuel inlet tube, that flows petrol back to the tank when fully (or 3/4) topped up...

They should get what the abv means.. Its just right underneath the helmet compartment. On the right hand side of the bike (inside the spar of the frame).

Yes, when its good, the pump should stop when its fully topped up. UNLESS the nozzle is faulty.. haha

Cheers

Dudes, what you think of this racing cab? Good or not?

http://page.auctions.yahoo.com/sg/auction/91332419

Cheers...

Like twisterx said, its for 2stroke use.. That should be a tm24ss.. My guess, cos I wont know how big is the bore...

You intend to change carb? Stock is good what... Maintained properly, should work like swiss clock.. Although parts are damn diff to find la.. hee hee..

But prob with carb mod is, you'll have to ditch the auto-choke system... Meaning you'll have to manually activate the choke EVERYTIME in order to fire it up.. Unless engine's warmed up.

Aftermarket carb is almost always more temperamental, finicky and jetting has gotta be more precise, tolerance lesser..

The carb that'll 'supposingly' 'bolt-on' and work off the shelf is the malossi carb kit.. It comes with all the necessary parts ie cable, adapters etc... to ensure a fit. But the jetting is way off.. So you'll still need some work—and cash— to get it work properly..

If you intend to custom fit a carb yourself, my advice is, dun try it. Its damn diff to get the fit and setting right... You'll have to start from ground zero. And you'll have to have a huge array of jets/ needles/ thottle slides so as to trial and error fit it, and see which works best, and whats needed... At least with the malossi one, the base setting is there.. You'll only need to change a little here and there. Not the other carbs.. :giddy:
