I paid, in total $215 for all the stuff done to my DNA.

1)$100 for a rear tire (Gold Standard)

2)$115 for -Carb cleaning

-change carb manifold "huge crack in it"

-New petrol filter and tubing

-New front brake pads

Performance wise I feel a great improvement, especially with engine starting. Not much "morning sickness anymore". Petrol consumption too decreased. Used to get 24km/L, now slight improvement.

Anyway, new pipe coming on monday, so will give an update on that, BTW, stroker, remove the baffles is tough right? He he, care to teach?

Cheers...

I saw it in the shop on Sat loh

Ya, stroker told me so. Suah suah I missed it by one day! Anyway, will make a trip down on monday morning to do it as well as to do the VICOM inspection, blah blah blah.

Eh, just out of curiousity, is it possible to remove the air box and just use a cone air filter? Or must I change the entire carb?

Cheers...

Can remove airbox and put a cone filter. But you'll be losing horsepower. In fact, you'll be losing loads of bottom and midrange horsepower... Affects yr rideability.. For the sake of a little better breathing top end.. Will need rejetting as well.. (Dunno if the jet's available in sg or not)

Cheers

And ya, btw, do you mind telling me what's the exact product codes (plus brand) for the set of bearings you had?? Is yours for the tranny, bottom end or top end?

I've just changed my tranny ones.. Not all some more, cos a few of those need blowtorch to get it out, so I made do w/o changing them... Im using a mixture of FAG and SKF items..

No wonder you had so much hard time trying to jet her... You hardcore cr\@#$zy! ha!

A pressurized airbox has got to be larger than the stock box. The stock box not big enough. And if its to be pressurized, its gotta be fully sealed. No leaks acceptable.. Plus you ghotta vent yr carbs and tank to the airbox, if not, it'll cause high-speed lean-out, and blow yr engine. You had all these done? (ps: maybe you've done it already, n im nagging too much.. ha! old already)

NOPE HAVE NOT DONE IT... the next time we meet then discuss about this... tired recently so don wanna type so much.... :giddy:

Hi all,

Its me (Phill) again finally find the way to convert the speedo from MPH to KPH; reset the trip meter to zero, turn the ignition off than press and hold MODE and CLOCK buttons together and without realesing the buttons turn the ignition key on and MPH changes to KPH or other way around. Good luck I tought might be usefull for some people. Because I bought my insturement panel second hand from England. By the way if any one interested here is the place sells brand new staff on line. I don`t know your country but compering to Australian prices they are like less than half price. Easy Parts.nl

The GPR exhaust is great! I feel a tad more power, and the sound is damn hot, especially when u are accelerating at a traffic light!

Anyway, anyone hear know what to do when you lose your road tax tag? Because mine fell off my bike today along with my license plate and the road tax, he he, must be my new pipe's fault!

cheers...

He he, imagine spider at KKFC all by himself thinking where the hell is everybody. Anyway, what you guys think is a good alternative for a screw and a nut, for the registration plate? As it comes off due to the high vibrations. Was thinking of zip cuffs?

Cheers...

Im using cable-tie (zip cuffs as u mentioned). They work great so far!!! Never failed. As they're flexible, and one-way locked, they never fail! Although it illegal la.. The law states that a proper screw to be used.. But most 'unkle' usually listens and understand when you explain yr prob to them...

MUAHAHAHHA... if he'e there alone, that'll be funni!! Go there take a peep this fri, and see if he's really there! lol.

Spidey>> Sure, pm e when you've found it.. Yeah, we can talk with details when we meet.

Cheers

Hehe, I always get so confused with the 2 of you, dunnoe whether you all talking about DNA180/210 or RS250!?

Anyway, yeah do not think I will get much problem with the zip ties. Man, print road tax disc not cheap, $10.50. Think I stick it somewhere else, far away from the engine block of my "zorst"!

Here are some pics of the new pipe! Enjoy!!! :cheer:

Cheers guys...

Thanks bro, yeah luckily for me the performance jumped after the exhaust was put in, engine starts alot better now, and I get a good sound and power coming out of the engine too. Hey, by the way, do join us for the DNA outing this saturday at Kalland KFC! It will be the biggest DNA gathering so far in Singapore with a total of at least 5! Yes! "5" DNAs!!! Hmmm, you got your DNA yesterday right? Means, you bought CBR289's one! He he, now time to "pimp" it up!!!!

By the way, JTWL! I still have your seat at my place, how about picking it up after the KKFC gathering? Bring a bag along ok? Hope to see ya there man!

Cheers...

Heyz,

Thought I would give a little heads up on the "zorst" I just got. In my humble opinion, it was worth every cent if you can afford it. First the total cost I paid for the pipe.

1) GPR pipe = $600

2) LTA inspection = $52

-------

Total $652

-------

At first I was offered a full-system for the bike, but sadly forgot that there was no "full-system" for high-mount pipes. So I just took the slip on pipe.

As for performance, I think this is one of the few things that can affect your ride in many ways, through looks, engine performance, and sound. Although not given a very good review from scooter magazines, I still think GPR is quite good for that sum of cash. And sadly one of the few street legal varieties available in Singapore!

Cheers...
