guys..what about Lee's Motor at serangoon?

anybody got any past experiences related 2 this motortiam?

can share?

Hey bro, just to share my experience..

Bought a KR150 tis yr. Till today I still regret going to that shop...

Dwnpayment : $ 1200.00

2yrs installment : 148 mthly x 24mth = 3552

Total cost : $ 4772.00 (everything included)

IU : $150++

When I visit the shop at noon, the one who approached mi is considered friendly. And since i a newbird thus i just agreed straight away in buying. Just passed loh.

Saleguy said can collect the bike at 5.30pm on the same day and will do a service on my bike(handlebar, spraying, rpm meter-spoil, wash etc..). But when i arrived, I found out that the bike have not even started. And worse, dun bother to start the servicing once i here, still have to wait. Till ard 7.30plus then finish(only adjust abit on the chutch and wash).. Damn tell mi to come again tml and service.

After reaching home, then i notice there is no IU install. Have to take a longer way to work in the next morning. Damn..

Next day arrived at 12plus, tell mi can collect in an hr time but due to work, i told them i will be back ard 5.30plus to collect. For the IU, they say must buy, not free. Tell mi $115(free install) but when installed, the counter lady charged mi $150++, the saleguy went for lunch. When I arrived at 5.35pm, I saw my bike still not yet started any. They told mi they are busy.Damn.. They not even immediately start doing my bike. Still have to wait till 7.30plus.. And what they did is IU installation, spray abit on the handlebar.

From then, i dun go to the shop liao except for installment payment.

They are just tooOOOo busy in sale (Only one sale guy two mechani and their boss) then real servicing. And very forgetful and dun have abit of pei sai.

And the bike now have been giving mi lots of problem and $$ fly away...

Shop name : very famous in this thread...(Starting with a A_B_RT Tra..g at Bukit merah)

**just my luck

Guys please do not treat Mengtong like not a "normal" mechanic cos he isnt 1. To many of us he is a great tuner and a experienced engine builder. He is the only one around with passion when doin up a bike. Its never a job to him but a part of his life.

So please DO NOT go to him for a sprcoket, oil or tyre change.... anything that does not require his expertise for that matter. Cos its draining his time and passion.

Loois Motor has a far bigger customer base than any other other shops outhere so its only fair that the boss reserves the right not to service bikes not bought from them.

Furthermore since u have decided to buy a bike from other shops shouldnt they be able to support your aftersales?? If not then shouldnt you buy from LOOIS in the 1st place? What I am trying to say here is, many of u go round the island to get the "cheapest deal" but falied to see the importance of aftersales and expertise of the aftersales force.

Loois Motor's pricing has been reasonable always although i cant guarantee they are the cheapest. So if i have to pay another few hundreds bucks more and i can rest assure my bikes are in good hands; in this case Mengtong's, i will still buy from Loois.

IF I RIDE A BIGBIKE, I WILL ALWAYS BUY FROM LOOIS MOTOR....so long as MengTong is there!

I dun really agree with this, i mean yes they do reserve the right to maintain only the bike bought from them but if i can get a better deal outside, why not?

From your words say like only can buy from them than go there service, then my friend wanna sell me his bike, i buy from him then let him service isit?

By the way? Wat bike did Meng Tong service and build for any Pasir Gundang Race? If Extreme motors or Excel Motors build and service bikes for Race and won it, then you mean they really good lah.

You support your mechanic is like everyone supporting their own mechanic. They treat you good doesn't mean that they treat everyone equally right..

Juz my 0.2cents.

On my way to the bike shop on a tow truck, the bike drop off the back as the driver went too fast on the hump. End up tank was scratched, signal broken, radiator scratched, brake calliper scratched. Upon reaching the bike shop, the mechanic liased with the tow company and the mechanic say tat the tow company will repair the damage for me. The mechanic asked me if I can give way abit, forget abt the scratch at the radiator, and they will waive the tow charges. So I jus say ok lor.. Jus fix up the tank and broken signal for my bike..

So i left the tank at the shop to send for respray... After 1 wk, I call the shop and they say the tank is ready.. But when i reach the shop, and after seeing the tank, I almost fliped.. they jus used putty to covered up the scratch. and the best part is, the color shade is totally out.. And its so damn obvious!! So the mechanic agree to send the whole tank for respray... I mean, why waste time by doing a half F**k standard job?

So after almost 2 weeks later... I called the bike shop again and they say the tank is ready for collection.. Reach the shop again, found out the tank has been resprayed, but the standard is darmn lousy.. Dried paint, uneven painting, pit holes, lacqueur that can be peeled off... Wat the hell happen to the standard tat many fellow forumers has praised abt? How could the mechanic accept this kind of standard by the paint shop? So i raised my opinions to the mechanic.. guess wat he say.. "aiya, chin chai lar..."

So not willing to kick up a big fuss, i jus accept the lousy paint job n asked abt my signal.. end up they haven ordered my signal for me.. so i had to return again in the afternnon to collect the signal.. total 3 weeks already, n they have yet to order my signal light....

Personally i feel tat although I may not be paying a single cent for the respray, but at least give me a decent paint job.. The tow company is paying the bike shop for the paint job mah.. so no need to give me a lousy paint job.. Service -wise really bad..... Wonder which other bike shop shld i go to since this shop used to of a rather high standard...

heyos, all...

Anyone got comments / experiences for Kallang Cycle (across LAB workshop)?

Been there a couple of times and even did my gearbox overhaul there. He seemed to be very knowleageble in V-twins, including Euro models. Even saw someone send a BMW GS and a HD for him to do.

Not exactly frenly and his shop's condition leaves a lot to be desired, but he doesn't mind to take the time to explain what''s wrong with your bike and show the parts they are problematic. When he disassembled my bike, I asked him if he could wait until my shift is over (8pm) for me to take a look. He said ok and he actually waited until 8:45 when I got there. He then showed me the problem and showed how it worked and what was wrong.

the reason why he knows alot abt twins and euro bikes is coz he was once the chief mech for minerva! tons of experience on ducatis, triumphs, MV, cagivas, etc. michael is a very nice guy who goes out of his way to explain things to you. very helpful chap.

Current rides: Ducati 999 and X9 500 SL

What makes this shop commendable:

V.Good : -The mechanic is also co-owner so he takes pride in work. Quite experienced although looks young, heard he was ex-chief mechanic of bike shop in amk before opening this shop himself. Friendly and honest, prices slightly below average. Convenient location(for me!)

Not Good: -4T, 2T... All SPC brand, mechanic bo bian coz using SPC compound. Bring ur own if u want. Does servicing mostly, doesn't really sell bikes.

bike production gives you cheap prices but lousy after sales service. they also dont accept full cash payment so they can earn on interest. if something goes wrong after u buy, don't expect them to do anything about it.

Once again I would like to apologise to Southern Motor for posting my insensitive comment in this thread.

I don't know what you said wrong but...if u were telling the truth and yet asked to apologise because this site needs sponsorship then is very sad.

maybe its not becos of sponsorship?

maybe his previous claims cannot be proven with evidence and the shop is threatening legal action ... truth or not, its not advisable to post anything here that cannot be justified with evidence

what about excel at kaki bukit at Shuni Li industrial park? Anyone got any commentsor info?

Did a tyre change at Excel, pretty great price yet properly done (digital balancing and taking care not to chew up my rims/swingarm). Dunno about the rest, it was my 1st time there and I'm satisfied despite being, self admittedly, a little too particular when it comes to how mechanics handle my bike.

I think how mechanics treat you and your machine is very much dependant on how you behave. If you're the type that appear impatient, walk off lim kopi or simply bochup, they will pick up the vibes that you dun really care or know enough to care. If u're involved, stick around and generally try to be helpful and observant, they will take more pride in their work and attitude knowing u probably appreciate it.
