I think for riding posture, is to sit up straight. Don’t try to lean forward or backward.

For gear, not sure what you mean but if you not sure which gear you are in, just try to make a mental note to count the gear position each time you kick it (up or down).

For E-brake just apply both front and back at the same time gradually. Not too hard. At the same time, clutch in and downshift.

If you jam brake too hard, rear wheel might lock. Let it go (foot brake) a little if in the situation and exercise control on the bike rear. Thighs grip the petrol tank. During my class 2B, my rear brake locks almost every time but I was still able to control it.

If front wheel locks, 99% you will lose control, so a void using too much at the front until you are almost at a stop.

Engine will stall only if you are very slow but you will feel it before it stall. You would most likely almost be at a complete stop and should be in gear 1. Clutch in, apply more brakes (front & rear) to get the bike to stop and get ready to put your left foot down.

At the first few practice, don’t worry about where you stop (before line or after line). Practice for mind/muscle memory first. Once your mind/muscle always react in the same sequence, then you can practice to stop before the line.

One trick is to go thru’ the stopping sequence in your mind in your free time at home. You don’t need to be on a bike to do it. If helps to build mind/muscle memory.

Hope it helps.

Bro,

Motorcycle and bicycle balance about the same but motorcycle requires lots of hands, fingers, eyes, body posture, feet and toes movement.

Don't give up on 2B, try to practice more on bike revisions, banking on turns, figure 8 and pylon. You will succeed one day and earn your 2B license, and you will look back 2B was tough but worth it.

And keep on riding bikes, and you will be more experienced.

tell yourself that you can do IT!
and fail again!!!!!

Hey Bro, jokes aside, fail during lesson is a good thing, it means you get a 2nd chance to get it right.

If your mistake was not detected during the course and you go out on the open road and screw up, you may not survive to correct the mistake. That's what my instructor told me.

I failed pract 6 for 5 times and only passed it the 6th time. After that was smooth sailing. Saved me from getting unnecessary points during the TP test too. So failing lessons during course is not a bad thing. Just have to find out what it is that was done wrong and get it sorted out before the next assessment

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.

At prac 4 and failed 6 times . With quite alot of practice too and inconsistent results . Lowest point was 4 and highest 22. Am I really not cut out for bike? I got a feeling that many people thinks I will get into an accident if I had a bike. Need guidance thanks..

these threads get created all the time .. u're not the first to feel this way. u're just one of many many many. dun get disheartened.

Some true words:

- There are two kinds of biker. Those who have fallen, and those about to fall.

- There are three ways for you to dismount a bike. As a rider, as a pillion, or as a projectile...

As much as I would like to encourage a would be biker, I won't. Not after the friend that I had encouraged to get back to riding after a serious crash died in a bike crash a few years later.

Right now, you're still in the lesson phase. Go ahead, knock yourself out and try to get that license. But my advice is, if and when you get that license, and you suddenly feel that you're not cut out for it. Quit while you're ahead of the curve.

don't be dishearten, to be honest i was quite unskillful too. but i managed to pass in the end. must perverse till the end. its definitely worth it in the end :thumb:
Perverse? Bro seriously?

Thanks everyone for the comments . I didn't really pay attention during the first few lessons but I can do pylon etc well. It's only the posture , gear and e brake that I have problems with. Tbh, I don't even know if I can stop while on higher gears . I remembered something about engine stalling. As for e-brake, I just learned that the you cannot put pressure on rear brake too much.
You can pretty much stop at any gear. However do remember to pull in the clutch before a standstill otherwise your engine will stall. More front brakes than the rear. Too much rear will make your bike fishtail. Try somewhat 60/40. :goodluck:

Falling is part and process of learning.

I just passed in Dec 2013! I'm a guy and took 5 lessons to clear 1.03...3 lessons for 1.02. At that time I really felt down but in the end pass TP 1st try.

Anyway the secret of ebrake is this- just concentrate on frontbrake. The frontbrake is strong enough to stop the bike from 30-0 if you do it right. Rearbrake is just optional. And TP doesn't penalize you for stopping in wrong gear (only for early clutch in). So frontbrake can liao!

the first time i took the e-brake lesson, i fell and had some abrasion.. i continued but each time i am at the line ready for the ebrake, my hands tremble.. I had no confidence and also tot im not cut to be a rider, at first I failed multiple times at the lesson for slope.. then now i fell.. but i continued.. knowing the fact that car is impossible for me with the salary im getting.. Bike is my only option.. i must TAHAN.. and after I fail my first TP my flame is vanquished.. I felt depress and very sian to wait 2 months... but i just book and went for the revisions.. spent another $200 just becuz i failed.. 2nd attempt i ride v slowly but with confidence and was one of the 40% that pass that day..

I believe every rider had met with much obstacle at one point or another during the learning phase and we can get thru.. provided u have enough kaching and encouragement.. dont compare yourself to those stories of "I one shot pass all lesson and TP, only took 4 months" Do it confortably at your own pace.. dont be hasty and rush every lesson.. dont give up.. On the day u ride for your expressway familiarisation.. u will be so happy u probably have orgasm while riding HAHA

Like that then must wear condom before you ride lor...If not highway familiarisation, underwear wet wet...

I remember my BBDC 4.22 (stopping on slope follow by right turn) 10 times. and some of the attempts were on the same day.

2 attempt than passed on TP. 1st attempt was on my birthday. The big fail plus a long bus ride was my birthday gift to myself.

The more public transport I rode, the more I told myself I will carry on... So, try taking the bus/ MRT during peak hours to motivate yourself a bit. Find those rides with a lot of people and that you have to smell the armpit of the person holding on to the top rail...

You will pass in your next attempt. And remember Calico's advice. Bring extra underwear on highway fam.

do not be disheartened, I know someone whose license was revoked. class 2 3 4 . He was riding a bike before he got revoked. He failed tp twice. they are just stricter but as you persevere, its just a matter of time.

bro i think we had the same problems. BALANCING! take it easy. every practical is just a drill. just take it as a drill and routine. as for the balancing problems, try wear those negative ion necklace like Phiten. it works on me! now i taking 2A. even 1 year on auto scooter i still can manage prac 1 n 2. good luck.

The reality is, as a biker, accidents are inevitable. Of my 10+ years of riding experience, I only know one person who never kena accident before; it is a question of when...not if, and how serious it may be.

Put yourself in that situation. If you meet with an accident, would you stop riding? In which case...u might want to reconsider taking a bike license. Or would you soldier on?

E brake posture = Sit straight, hands straight, jam both brakes and MOST importantly cluctch in at last minute moment then left leg down. when u travel straight with handle straight shouldnt even need to worry go left right. jam with confidence is key. despite my 1 time pass TP on 2B and 2A, i failed alot on all the lessons and always do alot of training lessons. do more and it helps. if it didnt, ur not meant to be bro. Ride safe

From what I and many others here experienced.

The more you "retain" during practical stages, the smoother your TP test will be.

After you get the plastic, to ride or not to ride on the road is another issue/preference,

giving up half way through is not a man thingy, anyway yours is toward the end.

Failure in later life always starts with giving up easily during earlier life stage development.

My apology for being brutal honest.

Don't be disheartened bro, talk to the instructor who failed you and find out what are the mistakes you made and then practise more to minimise the mistakes. Remember, no success without failure :)

practice safe riding. check blindspot whenever necessary. be confident and ensure full concentration on every ride. believe that you can.

if it is really not, what about trying class 3 familiar yourself with the road condition and get back to class 2b if you really desire so much?
