My experience too. Actually I can back that as I heard quite a few times, more prominent from CHC members lah.... not that much from other churches (1 case I can think of only). And I believe I know enuff christians to tell the difference....

This belief.... not something nice to say to others. Maybe some christian frens here read this will know how others feel and not use it too loosely when asking frens to go to church

Cool down bro. He is just telling u abt his experience. You can also tell him abt your good experiences with CHC to make others understand better abt the church If don't have, then for your self-improvement and to understanding others better lor. If you don't agree, maybe you can tell him why some people can say that is correct.

 

Maybe we all just self moderate and refrain from using "all christians", even from christians themselves lah..... peace, bros. Like we criticised TPs do not mean that all gahments people are bad, rite? If we want to get too defensive and sensitive..... better just read and don't post.... kekeke.... my 2 cents worth. My friend had the worst incident with christians. They (his aunties) actually converted his senile grandma who had been a buddhist for the whole of her life into christianity. And he din even know untill her wake was a christian affair. Imagine his shock. He hates them to the core now.

I also have radical christians in my family who i dun give a f*ck about now. They tried to convert my grandparents when they are in their twilight years. Those Bas*ards... These people i believe only the gates of hell will welcome them

Lets say u r a christian, when u r old and senile, i change ur religion into lets say buddhism, islam. How about that? Maybe they got a point system? Personally, there is a big difference between the belief and the practices. Some people made a mistake by reading too deep into their beliefs without thinking abt what others like.... like those people mentioned by bro Black Sheep.

there have been many black sheeps in christianity. Some teach the wrong doctrines who twist the words and play around with it or stuff words into your mouth and make their own doctrines seem right. They are asking for troubles as these pple have to answer to God.

 

It is everyone's own right to believe or not. And everyone's own right to spread the gospel. Can't expect pple to stop spreading the gospel becos you dunlike to hear. When the patient is dying, the people are doing a part to spread the gospel to the patient. It is up to the patient to believe or not. No one can interfere. So no one should have the right to stop anyone from believing in Christ or rejecting christ.

 

Spreading the gospel has to be done in a gentle way. Gentle means not quarrelsome. The bible has to be taken as a whole in order to understand the true meaning and not to use parts and bits and turn the entire meaning into another thing which some churches are practicing half truth or even avoid the truth. Finding ways to twist the original meaning of the truth. This is very common. And some have the cheek to come and shoot other christians when being pointed out nicely. I know it is never easy to practice what the bible teaches. If we can do 100% of the bible teaches then we're not humans anymore. Just try our best.

Yes i do agree. Just that i had a brush and gotten alot more personal with some of the more radical christians. No offence intended to those regular church goers.

Ultimately regardless of religion you are in, i sincerely believe in respecting other religions. If u respect mine, i will respect yours too. Its a 2 way traffic.

This thing I can remember quite well. Abt 10 yrs ago liao, under invitation of some frens I joined this CHC cell group hosted by one of the rich members. Rich woman!! The session was held at her balmoral condo. She joined the group and was "kind" enough to lend the place for praying, but the problem is she actually ill-treated the maid.... I really did not know until the other members gave me the "signals", then I realised. The maid, I talked to her before and she seems not that kind with a very strong attitude. But can feel the maid lived in FEAR. In the end, hear from frens that the maid ran away......

 

Although domestic affairs can be complicated, from the way the lady behaved, I think she did not look like the "pure" type. I believe a lot of the leaders and members know abt this, but.......... "sign"

 

I really don't know which section of the bible did this rich lady rewrote so that she can justify her actions...... makes the other followers look bad.

Well... I am sure regardless of any religion, there's sure to be some black sheep... Just like taxi drivers. Some good and some bad. Maybe you had encounters with mostly bad ones. But you must know that there are many out there who are also the good ones. If they say that you are going to hell then let them say lah.. unless you are that immature to let a few words get you so worked up.

 

Does that mean if i see a buddhist scolding other people or fighting, buddhist is not good? Of course not cos there are so many nice buddhists out there.

 

I have personally known some nice fellas from the church and have gone there once. Although i was not used to it and did not go afterwards, i was not forced to going again.

 

Just hope you guys will understand that everything in life has some good and bad. If you only focus on the bad, you will never see the good.

same same inccident happened to my friend's father. i attended her father's wake then hear story.

 

her father had stroke n was in coma. her aunty (father's sister) brought ~12 ppl from her church in the hospital use threatening word on her mum like "if ur husband is not a christain he will go to hell" "do u want ur husband to go to hell" they keep using the words "hell" until the old lady (her mum) broke down & let them have their way her was so devastated when she found out later when the wake was set up the christian way. to think that her dad whole life has been a devoted buddhist she can help sad...what more can we say...

Well, basically we have 13 more people going to heaven. I just hope they can reach there earlier. Make it up there in time before the space up there is filled up.

Otherwise they do good deeds liao still can't go through the pearly gates. Then hell won't accept them somemore. Alamak no wonder so many wandering lost souls around.

My personal view is that... always respect the dead's wishes.. if they believe in watever religion... juz do it sui sui for them... cos purpose of funeral is to honour them... for what they did in their life... -> this is also the same as chinese view if i am not wrong...

 

but christians believe that funeral is to show it to the livings... and not for the dead. Since they believe tis way.. of cos they will try to convert the near-to death person as christians... either as propaganda or watever.. like to say... see the person finally believed in christians before he/she died... -> tt's why view. haha
