    • Yeah, I let the engine running at idling speed for a few minutes.
    • No, what for? Waste of petrol.
    • Depends, usually will if have not started engine for a period of time.

I guess that might cause the block to crack after sometime as the

temperature rises rapidly?

Thinner oil sh b able to warm up faster, rite? By my logic lah... :cheeky:

For eg, hot cars like the BMW M3 uses 60-grade oil as they cannot take any thinner as the car will overheat easily.

every morning, i unarm my bike, take out my helmet and put my stuff in box.

1) start engine

2) fold my bike cover

3) wear my helmet and gloves, put in cashcard and ride off.

i think at least 3min after i start engine..

this is my opinion. if i havent start my bike for a long time den there's definitely a need to allow it to run for awhile. a MUST. if lets say you go to a shop and u stop ur bike, a few mins later u're on it again den there's no need laaa

Hey fellow S4ians...

Try this...

Get a "Hot Dot" sticker from ur Pizza Hut delivery friends.

Then stick it on da engine cover which gets hot and cold easily where visible and 1 on da exhaust pipe...

When it says "HOT" den u can move off... hehe

For da 1 on da exhaust, at least ur frens who pillion u dun get burnt on their legs... Esp ur gf's beautiful legs... hehe

Lotsa ppl hv done this and i think it's not such a bad idea.

Do keep some spare stickers handy cuz they dun last very long.

After some time da word "HOT" will just stay there even if it's cold...

Dats just a suggestion...

Cheers...

Hi All long time haven came in this forum... for me i change my pluck to better type but need to ramp abit so that the engine won die off when starting in the morning.....

but if i use the original pluck $8 i think.. every morning when i start ..no need to ramp my bike.. and it will start and wont die off..

for warming up.. my suggestion is start up engine..around 45sec to 1 min and ride off with low speed and keep changing to higer gear and after a while than speed up.cos in the morning there will not be much petrol in the carbretor it will damage it in long time. hope my suggestion helps..do correct me if i am wrong..

oh i am currently riding spec3..

hmmmm.. non smokers can use a cloth and wipe down their bikes before moving off? lol.. just a crappy suggestion.. i have a remote start unit on my bike.. so when i'm on the way down before i enter the lift, i start my engine, by the time i wear my helmet, the bike warm up liao..

Or someone else rode off with ur bike liao.... :cheeky:
