need advise!!

hi.. need advise on an issue..

 

i co owned a bike(second rider) with this brainless, beygok bongok bugger, ( lets just call him B for short), who sold me his rxk a few years ago.. sold his bike for 1k (rxk for one k? some more not done up one, can fall apart anytime), bo pian, that time just pass, p-plate still very shiny, and was serving ns and really need a bike.. so, to be more budget, just add name, pay him the 1k, renew insurance and road tax..

 

moving on.. so.. on april 07, B called me, ask me wether i'm using my rxk.. (coz i have another bike, B also has another bike, but his bike is in the workshop). wah.. coincidence.. cos i'm leaving overseas for my skool attachment the next few days.. so.. being a kind samaritan and a good friend, why not let him use? i'm away anw, at least theres someone to jaga my bike.. so.. gave him the benefit of a doubt, even gave him money to pay the road tax,( expires end of april) and didnt ask anything in return, jz hope tat he can jaga the bike for me.

 

last week, my brother e-mail me, telling me tat my bike kena summon 100bux, (park under void deck), and tat B has been consistently my house to inform tat matter.. and i if failed to pay by 22´june, i have to pay $5000.. so here's the thing..

 

1) i'm freaking overseas, half the world away, does he expect me to drop by his house, gave him the money, and go back?

 

2) ok.. for almost 3 years, i park my bike under the viod deck, no summon, no nothing.. and i only park there during the nite.. (nite more discreet mah..)

 

3) if i'm away for three months, my conscious mind will tell me to park it to multistorey carpark, covered it up or something.. BUT this bugger say he want to use the bike,( we stay in the same block btw..) so i tot why not leave it there, he shld take the initiative to park it in the designated place wat..

 

4) i dun think its my fault.. he's the one who's supposed to take care the matter of the bike, at least when i'm away.. lend him already, ask nothing in return, now tat i think his bike is no longer in the workshop, suka suka abandoned my bike...

 

5) i really adnire his persistence in calling my house everday.. call in the morning, noon, nite, keep on reminding.. c'mon la.. leave my family alone.. if he thinks its really my fault, why not pay the fine first, when i'll come back i pay him back lor.. tio bo..?

 

but then again.. i really think its not my fault.. if kena 5000 how? anw, will kena 5000 meh? mite as well i park in the middle or expressway or something.. more worth it, rite? so brothers and sisters.. really need ur opinion/advise/ 2 cents worth...

if you really hate him.. just ignore him.. your the sub rider.. the fines will have to be paid by him legally....

 

but $100 shouldnt be too much of a price to pay for peace in your family.. ask your family member to pay the $100 den...

 

i dun think he will be so dumb to be paying $5k rather den paying $100..

 

when your back... its either full transfer the bike over.. or remove yourself from being the sub rider... draw a clear line...

 

get your family to pay the $100... and settle the rest when your back in sg..

wah how come so much? are the figures correct? yeah persuade him to pay the $100 first, failing which get your bro to settle first, when you come back can discuss the issue. no point compounding the fine. i think the govt got enough money from us already.

He has to be responsible for all the fines. Of cos he can say that you were riding it BUT you have proof that you are not in the country so unless he can find a scapegoat for himself he will kena.

I seriously hope you have an agreement drawn up when you took over his bike or he could take back the bike and leave you with nothing.

I agree with both daojeff and newbie. Since he is the legal owner and it is his fault that the bike got summoned while under his care, he should have the decency to settle the fine. Now the only worry is, this guy may just play you out by putting your name as the rider of the bike under the column 'furnishing rider's particulars' when the summon is sent to him...

got a question to ask.. since i'm the sub rider, this guy, being the owner, can he so called cancel me out from the sub rider?? i think so rite? if like dat chialat..

of cos tht guy B has the rite to remove the subridername fr the insurance as he is the offical owner to the bike while u are not.. btw i think both of your didn't make any black n white agreement tht u will be COI as a subrider and furthermore if he sold off the bike n there thts it u got to find urself another bike then..

 

IMO if u think this frdship and tht bike dun worth much to u well then hackcare let B settle the fine n bike..otherwise pay up tht fine and u still stand the chance to get the bike and do ur best to get back to SG and get the ownership transfer to u so u won't meet such incident anymore.

hi guys.. was prepared to fork out the 100 bucks, until my brother update me with something...

 

the summon, its $300, coz kena 3 times..

now motor at carpark.. siao.. kena 3 times then want to put at the authorised location..

B will settle the $300, but ask me to pay him back once i return home..

he say he only use for two days... and those two days were the days before i left s'pore... d*mn joker... use already nvr inform me, how i know sia????

if i have known, i wouldnt leave it there..

really dunno wat to do.. no way i'm gonna pay that sum.. worse to worse, he will cancel my name.... haiz...
