close to half a million people read it on adv riders... I have upmost respect for those riders in that thread... Not something any of Singaporean riders have ever accomplished.. so much for rtw... I think 6 days in Angola is more adventurous and takes more balls..

Places look nice. But since I don't like trailees, I prefer to read abt Euro/US road trips. Prefer paved road with lotsa clean bends and sweepers. Sort of like the "Gap" in the US.

If you didn't said paved roads.. I would have thought of... the Darien Gap  Came across some other gap within the US, touted as biker's heaven due to twisties.. Don't remember what its called.

They had a different kind of tour... http://www.motivation-tools.com/adventures/darien_gap.htm

All so quiet... Reading ride reports ah?

Not really.

I was checking this site out. http://www.bestbikingroads.com/

More paved road stuff. Not into trailing. I prefer moving faster and seeing more for the time I'm moving. :D Plus, I like mountain twisties lots.

This one looks nice.

Either I noob at navigating that website, or there are no Asia routes listed, and its all Europe and US routes.

Its a good site for iternaries. But those will involve shipping our bike over by plane, or renting local bikes liao.

It's more for viewing sake. Seeing beautiful European Alpine scenery, nice clean paved road, envisioning the cool nice weather and beautiful twisties.

The only way you get to ride those roads is to fly there and rent a bike and go along with the tours. That's something of a dream for me.... it's just too expensive for now. :D

Sometimes I'm really envious of those in the States and Europe. For Signaporeans, we hit a geographical ceiling when we go North. Beyond thailand, Laos is blocked by China. And China doesn't welcome bikes. To cross over, u need to pay for police escort who will follow you, and all expenses incurrred by the trailing officers I heard. Huge sum, not for small groups, although Madagco group made one such trip sometime back. Vietnam on the right ban big bikes bigger than 200cc right? But its also cut off by China. Then left, Myanmmar, so far what i read is one day pass is issued, but the checkpoint retain your passport and u must return by nightfall.

I heard with special application then u can pass through Myanmmar en route to anywhere. But its also quite a hassle...

For eternal road + Scenery = Bliss

I'm guessing that its ameneties haven when you tour in places such as the US/Europe, so I guess you don't miss out on a lot, a little unlike Malaysia

Rossi did this when he was young also..

really...:faint:

Bro... my hair stand when I read your post.

The public road is not a place to play like it was the track.

I strongly encourage you to go to PG if you like to play corners.

Ride hard, but please ride safe. :thumb:

I wasnt consciously trying to play the the corner. i was like in a puppet mode. i kept moving and moving.

Anyway

oh i do go PG to play the corner.

And just like how i fall in the last corner of every turn of the track in MotoGP4(PS2),

that what happened to me recently in November at PG. Last Turn..:faint: .whew...live to tell the tale....

Actually....i had memory loss...after falling...

but no worries.. wont damper my spirit of going again..:cheeky:

Woa, memory loss sounds serious. So what did you forget?

all i remember till this day was chasing a CBR1000, then next thing i know my fiancee was at my place. Then my bike buddies came over after she went home.

hours difference....5hours...

this are the stories people told i did that i totally did not remember..

calling my ridding fren "i crashed and burn" 3 times..

calling my brother "i crashed" twice...

calling my colleague "am i working tommorow? am i still working for (previous company) or (current company)?" the companies i work for are rivals. oh yah 8 times.

calling my fiancee and being told off that we had a big fight and have not been talking for 5 days...

all of them were annoyed with me....:faint:

even my fiancee brought to the coffeshop for lunch i almost didnt remember...

she told me i was still donning my tracksuit and she stripped me:cry: , i also forgot...

and i asked how i got home.

she told me:dot: "tow truck":dot:

then i called my track fren which she snatched away from me and asked what happened. and she told him i "gong gong abit"

and i said "I HEARD THAT" while lying on the sofa..

he said i went with them makan and i keep asking them "did i fall?"

was escorted home by him and 2 ducati guys which i didnt remember nor did i get a chance to say thank you to them.

After which i told my fiancee "i rode home. how come you say tow truck bring me home"

she replied "yah, you were on the bike.....and the bike was on the tow truck"

and i called my fren again which he laughed and said she was pulling my leg.

what a riot.... having an adventure which i cant remember at all....:cheeky:

yesterday Jan 8th Tue, was riding on my way home around 6pm exiting Dairy Farm Rd onto Upp Bt Timah, slight hold up at the Junction in front of Salvation Army...i looked further and saw a car with hazards light flashing on the outer lane, in front of him was a gilera runner on middle lane and rider lying there alone...

i pulled up at the bus stop, the down rider was just in front of the bus stop lying there bleeding and 2 lanes away, car slowing down to look, bikes did the same, even bus drivers....wtf is wrong with people nowadays...? selfish or dont care or too busy? (almost like a war movie scene after sniper took your men down and you only can helpless see him lying there in the open...)

other vehicles didnt even let me cross the lanes to help the down rider....its a sad situation and people at bus stop could only look.

P-plater with half cap and easily detachable visor, visor gone of coz cutting his face with abrasion, no gloves, so hands and arms all abrasion, thankfully he was generally ok and conscious but daze and in shock. Could limp onto the middle grass divider with help.

Uniquely Singapore indeed.....please help fellow riders!
