TP - why cant they get "flip" helmets (Nolans) - I appreciate they want to be able to talk to motorists without having to talk their helmets off all the time. Most traffic cops around the world use them.

For Thursday, I waited after the rain to stop and I rode back. Yesterday then I realised why my bike is so dirty

Anyone noticed some common themes in many of these posts? Someone does something to you (horning, cutting off etc), you get angry, then an accident happens.

 

Rule No.1 - Back Off. Not worth the stress or potential for accidents. So what if they "blow you off", better than having an accident. Egos are not for use on the road, and who exactly are you trying to impress?

 

Everyone has different skills, bikes and attitudes. Some ride beyond their skills - hence the horrific road toll in Singapore. Let others ride dangerously. What does it REALLY matter to you? 10 seconds earlier to work? Or are egos so precious that you have to be in front. I ride a 1 litre bike, and if a 150cc scooter wants to pass me on the AYE, good on him. Not bothered at all. If someone is trying to pass (car or bike), I get out of the way.

 

Taxis - a friend was killed by one last year. Agree with all the postings that you should avoid them at all costs. And when the lower the driving limit below 73 (!!!) we should start getting some who pay attention.

 

Buffer zone riding - activley maintain a buffer around you (side, front and rear -hardest) to give you reaction time. If someone comes into your buffer zone then do something to get them out of it.

Today while riding, wasted HALF TANK of petrol, and finally ended up at a place, which is only 5 mins away from the place i started at.. Like f*#@%$@#

 

Started at wisma at town. Plan was to go vivo. And i noe its sumwher near AYE, dunno which exit.. but roughly noe hw to go.. But from town ive only seEn CTE/SLE exits before.. CTE/AYE..dunno wat to go ..so went around town 3 rounds.. and finally ended up somehow on CTE/AYE.. aND i missed d exit dat my dad took d other time wen we were goin by car.. its buona vista exit.. can end up sumhw at vivo.. so i missed it.. den exit at west coast highway thingy coz i noe hw to go from there.. but end up making rounds around west coast.. den sumhow ended up on aye towards cte again.. den supposed to exit at keppel road to go make one big u turn.. which i missed aso.. ended up on ECP.. den decided to jus go wherever d bike brings.. ended up near suntec.. so finally jus park bike there and jln2 there..

 

And finally realised suntec is jus like 5-10 mins away from town.. make one big round to end up at suntec jus to find half tank left.. i jus top up full tank before i started my journey.. wat a day..~!! i jus hate central + west side.. always get lost only.!! arghh!! And this whole journey lasted with a pillion behind me.. halfway thru i jus felt like stopping d bike n ask him to ride n i sit behind.. but too bad he got no license.. haiz.

And finally realised suntec is jus like 5-10 mins away from town.. make one big round to end up at suntec jus to find half tank left.. i jus top up full tank before i started my journey.. wat a day..~!! i jus hate central + west side.. always get lost only.!! arghh!! And this whole journey lasted with a pillion behind me.. halfway thru i jus felt like stopping d bike n ask him to ride n i sit behind.. but too bad he got no license.. haiz.

 

haizz, just bring a map along wif u when u ride loh, till now i still bring my map thou

Its nt abt bringin along a map la.. but its so irritatin to carry so many things around seh... my bag always so full with things.. And remmeber i carry my bike canvas around everyday aso... and sumtimes even raincoat.. haiz.. sumtimes i feel like puttin a box back again.. but box nt style la.. haiz.. haha.

Go get tat box... It is sooo convenient. I hate putting box in the past, after trying it on my present bike. Bought a new box n keep it.

 

My bike used to have.. i go remove it coz its so big lah... maybe its time i get a smaller one? haha.. but still i dun like box.. haiz.. see how.. fickle me.. haha

what i do is i bring a bike cover...when park bike i will leave the helment and bags on the bike tank and cover the bike so no1 will see

I dunno la eh.. sumtimes i see those guy riders.. always nv carry any bag.. nt even helmet bag or any bag.. i wonder wher they put their wallet hp all? usually my jeans pocket so small.. and pants no pockets also..so no choice but to carry a helmet all d time.. i wanna ride without carryin a bag.. haiz..

Ride a scooter.

Today while riding (erm make that yesterday since its 12 midnight) had 2 near misses both of which I would either have wound up with serious injuries or 6 feet under. I am a despatch rider and the first near miss occured at Ang Mo Kio Industrial Area 2. 2 lane road opposite directions and I am going one way and a massive lorry the other. Lorry wanted to make a right turn into a building on my left. I continued going straight because to me, I had the right of way. Lorry apparently didnt see me and continued to make the turn. I dont like to use the horn and I thought the lorry would eventually see me and give way. I was wrong, in the end I swerved left onto the pavement and continued on my way.

 

The next incident happened in the afternoon, I was riding on the lane markings at Serangoon when suddenly I heard "beep, beep BEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPP", I glanced over to my right and this bloody ccb white taxi SHB5289(forgot the last letter) was within touching distance of my bike, I stretch out my right leg sure touch the taxi liao. Damn pissed off, I gave the "What the **** you trying to do sign" and almost show middle finger but didnt la
