more and more ppl on the phone while driving...the penalty is so severe and these arses are still doing it.

 

Yep. Getting very rampant and makes me wonder why the TPs are not doing anything about it.

 

Some of these arses even dare to give you the 'what the hell you looking at' when I glare at them when I pull up next to them on the road.

today i out at the earliest possible legal time, chun chun 6.00pm was on bike liao!

Wah! first time PIE no jam lei?! A lil slow but at least no jam.

 

 

 

Which means the speed camera is actually to catch motorists going too slow?!

 

Is that legally correct? Coz I unds the speed limit indicates UPPER limit, not LOWER limit?

 

While we are on that point, will TP actually come and signal u and tel u "y so slow that I can cut u from left?"!?! A bit ridunculous right.

 

I know la, some motorists juz wan fast fast fast. Normally I will use lane 1only if overtake/ no diff wif lane 2 coz of traffic conditions.

 

But seriously, if evione think like dis den how? Coz i ever see minivans swerving like they are bike, speeding and overtaking from left - that means everyone else is too slow? Like that how? Go shoulder?

 

We all noe wat happens when 30km > road allowed and worse for 50km > road allowed wat, so how can that statement be true?

Aiyo Guys hogging doesnt really means slow speed. Hogging means you hog in the lane where infront got no vehicle. If the car coming from behind just try to pick up if not then just see if you can move to the left lor. But generally if you on the 1st lane is traveling faster than the 2nd i think should be ok la. But if left lane no car or the cars are faster than you then you are hogging. Its not a explaination you can express on a dictionary or wat. Its a ON ROAD manners

I ever met with this driver along woodleidge. He basically hog the whole 1st lane and going 50 with no car ahead of him. I pick up and see wats going on tot he might be sick or wat. i eva tried once when i've been tailgate by Lexus. i was riding at the most right lane & came a Lexus frm behind. my speed was 100kph & i guess the Lexus was prob more than tht. so i wanna do a research bout the lexus driver so i accelerate at 110kph slowly up to 140kph. i know this is insane n most stupid thing to do when u ride wif high speed esp when someone frm behind drive or ride try to catch u up.. so when i was at 140kph i said to myself this driver is crazy he tried to catch me up. so i signal to the left & move to the center lane whr i decrease my speed to 100kph. the driver was fast n gone out of my side. tht was crazy. my research was totally out of my mind. but thnk god i'm safe n sound. nvr again do a researched on fast cars.

Let me put it this way. Even if u are doing 200km/h or 300km/h, please give way to those doing 220 or 320km/h, respectively. This is the international convention of giving way to faster vehicles. Another example:

Let say if u r traveling at 200km in lane 1, and there is no vehicle infront and lane 2, u r hogging if someone is tailgating u. It is a respect not to over take from ur left.

Usually lane 1 is use for overtaking and for emergency only.....

Sometimes walking on the streets also got pavement hoggers what, like dam bloodly fat lidat, occupy the whole dam path, like he's the only one walking. Same with escalators before MRT implement the stand one-side thing. Some even stop and tok on the phone in the middle of the path blocking both directions.

This is one kind of people i duno crawl from which hole, dumb-arse block-the-earth-spinning kind of goondoos lor. They will not feel anything wrong with what they are doing, they have no sense of this. Its a mental problem.

Holy Cow! I almost hit a student this morning on my way to work this morning.

 

Situation was as follows.

2 lane road, both lanes jammed.

Left side blocked by bus alighting passengers.

Right side by vehicles turning right much farther ahead.

 

I was riding on the dotted line, 2nd gear to get to my destination, when a girl stepped out from inbetween 2 stopped cars in the jam right into my path!

 

I E-braked and the "Eeerrrrhh !!!!" sound of my brakes scared the girl, and she took a step back. Heng Ah!!!

 

Seeing that she was safe I released brake and accelerated off. Phew! What a close call!

Legality is not the issue. Neither is the definition of road hogging. This is because different people will have their own definitions of road hogging. Some will think cococokie was, others will say he was just being incourteous for not giving way in the situation he was in.

 

I do not think he was are hogging, but as some forumers have pointed out, they think he is because he was overtaken from the left. It is difficult to convince everyone to stick to one definition.

 

My point is that in the end, does it matter whether it was hogging or being incourteous in lane 1?

 

I mentioned that technically speaking, your definition is correct; my argument is that cococokie should have moved aside regardless of speed, as you agreed-the convention of giving way to faster vehicles.

 

We only differ on whether we think the definition of hogging was important.

Should see how the european drive. 1st is strickly for overtaking. If you are not overtaking please stay in 2nd. Once you are tailgated, you are hogging. Just move aside let him pass then go back to 1st lane lor aiyo no biggy wat. HOG means having the whole of the lane 1 with no car infront of you. THATS HOGGING! If you are doing overtaking all along and still see someone faster than you coming PLEASE MOVE TO YOUR LEFT! 1st lane is FOR OVERTAKING ONLY! behind car want to overtake you. kindly please move.

 

Its a Saloon car that is tailgating you. thats why all these complaints and upset. Wat if its an ambulance/police car? Or someone in the car is heading to hospital on emergency? have you all tot of that? Cos when you are in emergency i dun think the driver is in any concious of his speed be it 140km/hr, he just wanna get to hospital fast.

 

Even thou mabbe its not that he rushing for hospital just give the driver the benifit of doubt and let him pass la. You yourself feel better also ma. Not being tailgated also.

To me i KNN PUI. CCB got traffic light they all dun wanna use and wanna jaywalk still want ppl to look out. zzzzzz =.=|||

I changed louder horn coz i wanted to blast inconsiderate motorists, but realised it's probably safer if try to keep distance from such ppl instead, now refrain from horning the louder horn, only to prevent acci like when we may appear hidden near x-junction. Coz evitime i horned like more lei, refrain and let go, keep far away, amitabha..

Yaraz, I was too focused on the black and white of the matter, actually what matters most is what do we do in such situations.

 

Coz in reality, dun care road hog or speeding, black or white, right or wrong, staying alive is MOST important.

 

Whether or not a situation defines road hog or speeding, who cares? oni TP cares.

 

As my dad says, "if u ride bike, dun care whose fault, u end up paying!" So better not to be in a situation where u need to "pay".

last 2 days,

when i was goign to turn left into the carpark,

a van from the opposite direction turned right together with me into the carpark.

i ride into the lane going in.

and he drove into the lane going out.

i horn him. and keep horning and horning.

i was suppose to turn left and seeing hmi turn right, i ride right infront of his van preventing him from making the right turn and scold him.

he was explaning himself that he didnt cut into my lane

but i told him rubbish and keep scolding him until he said sorry.

haiz... partly becoz i wasnt in a good mood too.

but i cannot stand this kind of driving.

what if last min i decided not to turn into the carpark?

i think i'll be under the van already.

today while riding, i "beat" the erp in BKE-PIE! reach office so early!

 

Coz wanted to have a feel of the traffic b4 erp. like not much diff lei, slightly less jam, still slow moving. cars still stuck in lane 2 and 3 towards city.

 

Can imagine the drivers stuck b4 the gantry coz of the jam, den just nice gantry in operation, right "in their faces", xianz!
