why this thread title like a bit weird today ah...

HAHA, advance april 1st

 

today while riding, i was riding on simei avenue. route was to turn left at next junction, saw a bus just took off from bus stop, i was on the middle lane(4 lanes total). don't know what hit me and i decided not to slow down and follow the bus to turn left, but just over take and pass 2 lanes at one go at 70-80kmh/h. feeling very reckless:faint:

today, while riding my gf's nouvo ever since a long time, i rode relaxingly. so relax until i turned corner and scraped something. looked behind me got nothing on the road. as i rode, i pondered hard about it. then after reached destination, i went to inspect the bike. turns out i scraped the side of the main stand!! OMG!! i wonder how.

 

anyway, i have a question. how many of you actually give way to the rider behind you so that he can overtake you while lane splitting along expressway? cos for the past week, i'm soooo irritated by those lane splitters who hog between lane 1 and 2. early morning jam, then ride so slow until i must overtake by going between lane 2 and 3. and it's scary trying to shuttle in between those 2 lanes just to lane split forward.

sometimes its hard to give way while lane splitting in heavy traffic. Hard to find pockets of spaces btw the cars to move aside esp if u are riding a giant wide bike. Im one of those slow lane splitters cos im more wary of safety but i will try to find a way to let the guy behind me through.

we should have more riders like you! otherwise, i'll just join the long and slow queue until there's enough space for me to go to the other lane to lane split faster. sometimes even best! both lanes are hogged by slow riders. no chance of overtaking. i really2 hate those who lane split at 30-40km/hr! might as well get in queue!! urghh!

 

today while sleeping, i dreamt i bought a ktm. unsure if it's a ktm 200 or 400 but will remember for sure the orange colour! and that i went to a shop to fix marchesini supermoto rimset along with new tyres. by the time the bike was ready to go, i woke up!

I used to think i should give way until i met with my 1st accident when i gave way to another rider.. now i dun care bout the other riders behind, until there is enough space on either of the lanes for me to give way safely..

sorry to hear about that bro! to each his own choice. that's why when there are slow lane splitters in front of me, i don't disturb them, i just find another way to overtake them and i'll just be muttering vulgarities in my mind. it's afterall their right to ride however they want.

i was late for class due to the cooling rain in the morning. Had to put on rain wear to bike to school.. Was dry but very toublesome as i had to put on and remove

 

Shoes all wet when i reach school.

 

my practice is not to lane split unless really need to... only lane slipt when traffic is so slow till cars had to stop... or moving at 10km/hr..

depends on the situation.

 

IF a VERY LONG QUEUE infront, seriously, no point. let u overtake, in front still got 20 bikes

 

IF short queue, then ok, might as well let faster riders go 1st.

 

A lot of the slower riders lanesplitting are slow for a reason - they saw too many things liaoz...

 

So sometimes when i feel like qiong-ing, i look at the veterans on the road and think to myself, there's a reason y they go relac at this corner/ bend etc, so i just relac behind them.

 

imo, it's more dangerous to lanesplit on lane 2/3 and try to overtake those on lane 1/2 coz of the usual reasons. But im sure u haf ur reasons to go faster.

was on my way back to office, travelling along PIE.. saw traffic signboard showing Bedok North Exit having accident..

 

when i went passed it, TP patrol car was there.. I think it should be a car.. cant see clearly as i didnt exit there, i carry on..

 

many drivers/riders trying to drift/powerslide/corner there.. breaking records of highest speed around that exit with the help of thespeed indicator..

 

anyone using that exit frequently (inclusive of myself), should really take caution.. for the past few years, many accidents occured there..

and today while riding at bbdc, i finally pass my final prac. i took only 1 week to complete my class 2a but still need to wait for 1 theory lesson and TP. why must the TP date be soo long?? sigh...

wanted to beat the rain but decided to turn back home to get my rain gears. before i knew it, the rain was pouring big time and traffic got worse (already its very bad at my area because of the no of schools) and i got caught right smack at the 'parents sending kids to school time belt'. as usual morons ended up queuing in the yellow box obstructing oncoming and turning traffic.

yup very common in sg as trait of (majority) sg drivers - inconsideration for others....

 

nearly got into accident early with this car u turning while i was oncoming, i was fortunate enough to have an empty bus lane to swing into to avoid a T bone. slowed down and waited for the driver and it was an old man about 60+ yrs old and since he apologised profusely, i went on my way. however, some other riders (we have read about in the past) were not so lucky and they ended up being killed by someone's inconsiderate/stupid act.

 

at another traffic light, this lady driver in a jaguar had to use 2 lanes to turn! i usually try to avoid female drivers (especially when they drive some big cars and cos 90% of them have simply have no/bad sense of judgement and maost of time dun event know why or when they made a mistake) decided to delay a tat bit b4 moving otherwise i would have superman'ed! jeez how did these ppl pass their driving or simply dun care or as reported by another forumer, they only have tunnel vision and cannot see anything next to them, esp a bike...btw i am blue and pretty loud unless she's got techno pumping in her car and so freaking blind that she cannot see me? i was positioned slightly infront of her in the next lane on her right side?!?!?! seriously amazes me how drumbfcuk she was and this is not e 1st time i came across this.

no more sounds comin frm my bike!!!wheee.was feeling so happy dat while lane splitting blardy car suddenly swerve 2 nxt lane w/o signalling n i had 2 jam brake in order nt 2 kiss da butt.i was still smiling.or when i was goin thru a bend n suddenly another bike zipped past me.i was still smiling.although inside my heart cursing & swearing
