Good idea. But i wonder y is it tat sometimes other road users cant c us when our headlights is on. i think best is put red/blue blinking light. :)

Sometimes i think is not we r not visible but is a choice not to c.

The high visual clothing may sound good in theory but it does not really do much. Remember my accident I told you about. The irony is I was wearing a raincoat with lots of reflective material and I loved it so much so how come the driver did not notice me? Its because the driver simply chose to not check and be aware of the surroundings and just turn a blind eye. The point is we can be as bright and visible and ride safely and all but if someone else chooses not to notice you and be in their own world whatever you wear also no use. :cool:

Was at this pub recently with right outside parking... and this Red Accord Euro had a faulty alarm or something so it was kind of irritating...

So after a few rounds of nonsensical alarms while smoking with my friends, I blurted out "won't that car STFU?" and coincidentally that drunk accord owner was beside us and started to find trouble with us... to which I manly apologised and explained the situation as I didn't want my friends to get into trouble because of my blunder...

The next time my friends went down for karaoke and that idiot created trouble for them by upping his three techno songs of 20 mins each while they were smoking... to which they were kind of pissed off as their song was supposed to be next and paid back in kind when he went for a smoke... Next thing was him complaining to the staff that them "idi0ts" upped their song to overlap his... which he wasn't even singing... -_-

Ok... I'm kind of fed up with this fella and really feel like slashing his tires... but that will get me into trouble...

any ideas of any other foolproof methods that can't let him pinpoint who it is?

I was going straight today on a small road..

I already saw a taxi coming out.. I slowed down preparing it to "chiong" out.. INDEED I was right! It rush out closing our distance and I horned!

It stop and I went pass it slowly..

The taxi look puzzled and after 1 min, drive up next to me and keep on saying Sorry Sorry Sorry..

I was extremely angry but after he apologise, it felt ok again.. :)

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks... :cool:

Yea, I notice that too. Darned irritating. I think most of em would be those high n mighty SUVs. Headlights already far from the ground. Though, yes, seen some regular cars with either high beam on, or super badly aimed low beams.

cant blame those SUVs, vans and lorries since their headlight are already at a higher position :lol: :lol:

never leh, is it the timing? I use it during morning commute to work around 8-9am. and evening 5-6pm. nobody dulan. at least not that i know of.

i usually go to work at 10-1030am

yup, majority of the drivers that bang into motorcyclists always use the "i nvr see u" excuse

True indeed. Sometimes those things are really out of our control no matter how many precautions we take. I got rammed from behind by a car just as I was about to move off from a green light despite wearing a reflective jacket. At least luckily for me, the driver was apologetic and helpful afterwards so situations kinda depend on luck too.

Current Rides:

FEB 07 -> NOV 08 [CBR 150]

AUG 08 -> AUG 12 [XJR400]

AUG 12 -> ??? [DUCATI MONSTER 696]

Yea, those vehicles with headlights placed higher can't really be helped. Normally the trucks and lorries aren't too bad cuz they aren't going fast enough to require judging their approach speed from behind. (I know I know, there are still speedy trucks and lorries, but I say normally). Same can't be said for SUVs. Some of their drivers think those things are speeding tanks, especially the X3/5s. Bright + glaring + coming fast up your a***! Trickier to siam them at night.

1030am, by that time, I think high beam would be unlikely to annoy anyone. Sun would be much brighter than the headlight anyway, most times. It's only the high beam at night which dazzles.

Heck, even if they saw a bright orange bike with rider in reflective gear smack in to them, they'd still claim they didn't see. Sleeping, using phone, watching DVD....

Safer to not assume that brighter lights ensures one is noticeable, but always ride with the mentality that they can't see ya!

Like that! Get another menace off the roads. Haha.

some of these SUVs even install HIDs coupled with DRLs which makes it worst to be driving/riding in front of them. i have also notice some drivers rather turned on their HID converted fog lights than to turn on their headlights while another turn on HID headlights, fog lights and DRLs. can literally get blinded by driving/riding in front of the latter group at night

Its their SOP. When they hit you from the back they will ask why you 'suddenly' stop knowing fully well the traffic ahead is still not clear for you to move off safely. I recall reading in the papers quite sometime ago of this driver who still strongly feels that its not wrong of him to suddenly stop and insert cashcard into IU causing a lady rider to crash into his car. Could not recall what happened in the end. :cool:

i definitely remember this fella and the news article. and the reason i remember this joker is becoz after he insisted he was not wrong to jam brake insert cashcard, in a stupid attempt to make his case, he goes on to say "just the other day oso another car in front of me jam brake to insert cashcard until i almost hit him from behind. then i overtake him and stare at him he oso never look back at me".

if not wrong to jam brake insert cashcard then why you stare at the fella when he do the same to you then, you stupid SOB.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Yea, typical. Think they're the only user on the road, king hog, VIP. When the northbound CTE ERP used to operate till 2230, I'd always see accidents on the way back.

Ppl slam on the brakes on trunk roads already bad enough, but on the CTE, when everyone is usually flowing 80-90 at around that time, results can be deadly. Seen quite a few accidents like that. Usually in lane 1/2. Made it a habit to ride extra cautiously when approching that area. In fact, approaching any ERP gantry at all.

They simply don't bother to see others. "I pay road tax, I have my right". Then again, there's always that old nugget, "keep a safe following distance".....which is kinda hard to argue against.

i rmb that case as it was quite "sensational" during that point of time.

another case that happened few mths ago.. a ducati rider was riding in the middle of the lane in the evening and got rear ended by the car behind. driver came out of his car, reeking of alcohol, said that he did not see the rider as the rider suddenly swerve into his lane. as usual, flip story like flip roti prata. luckily there was a car beside that recorded the whole process and driver offered to be a witness and the video as evidence.

yesterday while riding, lost my way inside the underground carpark maze of marina square. looking for my way from conrad to ritz carlton. took off helmet cos sweating like mad from the afternoon heat + jam at rochor due to road closure. then suay suay got TP eating snake inside the carpark. tio stop by him and kanna farked. luckily in the end he let me go with just a warning after i kept apologizing :cheeky:

then at night on the way home, this station wagon forced itself from lane 4 to 1 in few seconds. no space liao still die die want to force itself in front of me. gave a 15 sec horn. then the idiot began to hog lane 1 :dot:
