Guys, Dolls,

I am italian and recently transferred to singapore for good

willing to buy either a Honda CBR 600 RR or a Suzuki GSR 600 - two different lifestyles, I know, but I am still undecided

seek advice on prices, bargaining with local dealers for accessories and stuff like that - anyone willing to mentoring this new expat?

let me know

Ciao

welcome to singapore.

it all depends on what you exactly want. for track sessions, u can always get the CBR600. But if you want something to commute daily on, my advice is to get the GSR600. You can also go touring with the GSR (and also track but you wont have much fun on a GSR than on a CBR).

as for dealers and such, you don't have to worry much. the agent for Honda is Boon Siew (they have a big showroom somewhere in the central part of Singapore) and as for Suzuki, its Guan Hoe (Somewhere in the central too). some of those small bike shops do get their bikes from Boon siew and guan hoe too but i rather go straight to the agent. a little more than those small bike shops but i can have a piece of mind not worrying of being cheated and stuff like that. Accessories, after-market parts you can get them off the shelves (or you might need to order which will take abour 6 weeks) from a number of accessories shop around Singapore.

good luck in searching for the ideal bike, and if you're free on weekends, there's always bikers who organize gatherings, touring up north (malaysia, thailand) or just simply meeting up and having lunch/dinner/supper. i'm sure you'll be more than welcomed to join us. cheers!

rien d'autre que le max.

with the GSR being a newer bike than the CBR, aftermarket parts are hard to come by..

and also with the regulations here and there, you might encounter some problems getting your dream upgrade, if you do have any in mind.

just my 2cents worth.

cheers!

guan hoe is along rangoon road, here.

can't miss it, big suzuki on the storefront.

about accessories, the local Land Transport Authority has some limitations here,

otherwise, anything else should be fine.

and here are some pics to get your imagination fired up.

i'm not sure how riding is like in italy, but drivers here are quiet obedient mostly,

though you should always be aware when near a taxi.

happy riding & welcome to singapore dude..

mods done:

powerplant device, fuel injector venturis,

underseat cylindrical air filter, bassy stock cans,

super-sensitive in-built gyroscope, inertia-based accelerometer,

streamlined panniers (zero drag),

taped up wires, exposed grounding wires,

TBC mounted, custom tire pressures.

litre bikes watch out! :gun:

Aftermarket parts are now plentiful for the 600. More shops bringing them in coz its already been more than a year since the bike was brought in.

Replacement spare parts are also now easy to be had.

Though I dun understand what you mean by "regulations here and there"?
