Dude get your mech to check the tensioner at the engine block.

If the noise sound like this "kok kok kok" at the engine, replace the tensioner before it get into greater damage.

Hope this help

yea its like kok kok kok, but only when i close throttle...

phantom got 6 gears, if i remember correctly, each gear plate cost about 60 SGD, that i read in forum before.

Hazard light, lookfor DIY session is the best option.

if u go to shoop they will chage u 20-30 SGD.

could be timing chain tensioner, i heard metal knocking sound on my bike before engine warm up.

had it changed for 55 SGD and problem solved.

may want to try to jack up bike and throttle all the way till 6th gear.

release throttle and try to pin point where that sound came from.

heh. thats what a fellow dude did when all the mech couldn't solve the prob. he got to the root of the prob himself.

For every 7 pounds you lose, you gain one horsepower.

what is the syptom like when the wheel bearing for the front wheel is spoil or is time to change?

when u freehand your bike at about 40kph on your speedometer your front steering and handlebar starts to wobble.

u feel that although you are going straight the bike is going towards your left or right.

your normal steering on the handlebar feels robotic..

is it steering cone or wheel bearing?

"your normal steering on the handlebar feels robotic." since like is steering cone and not wheel bearing.

nothing you guys dunno lah.. just that my memory is poor so took down some stuff.. was wondering if any1 did such a summary before.. maybe after my exams i will do 1.. then can put as sticky.. like common part prices, cling-cling sound what might be wrong and stuff like that.. alot of effort needed so no guarantees.

cheers.

is there such a thing called throttle cable ?

realized that no one seemed to have replied you.

Yes, the throttle cable is the cable that connects from your right throttle grip to the carburettor.

Sounds like insufficient fork oil. Check to see if your fork tubes are oily, could be leaking fork seals.

guys, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was riding today in yishun. after taking a left turn, my throttle suddenly no response! its not the petrol tank dry, cos already tried reserve. i change to any gear, oso cannot move off.. opened my sprocket cover to see, sprocket still there, teeth not worn out. i thought its piston jam, so i tried full throttle.. all i see is black smoke.. but bike still can't move.. its like every gear is a neutral gear.. then, in 6th gear, there's lots of metal sounds coming from the left side of the bike.. what could have happened? how much for such repair? my bike now is at Planet.. hope its not too serious... :(:(
