better to disconnect....

1. short circuit may happen....you may have other devices that use the battery

when the ignition is off...eg..radio...cdplayer , alarm ..etc they use energy.

2. security....your bike will be safer...thieves may have a hard time starting your bike.

wah radio, cdplayer only ah?

DVD no hav meh?:cheeky: :cheeky:

yup no difference whether u disconnect or not but best to disconnect in my opinion:cheeky:

Something strange happened to my bike today! I was riding for like 1 hour plus and when I finally stopped riding, I am shock to discover that the left side of my engine, chrome cover and even my key was covered with oil!

I feel that if could be because the eo had "expand" due to the heat from riding too long (i fill up eo to 1.2l everytime) hence it was managed to escape.. the strange thing is that the right side of my phantom is very clean with the lubication/oil...

can anyone tell me wads is wrong and izzit recommended for me to faster push bike to motordiam?

well maybe the head gasket puncture..

how about your spark plug..any leakage there?? if yes...wah..maye piston ring needs replacement..

better send to clinic for checkup....

iif it is a simple overflow problem/high pressure in crankcase will in most cases cause this..the oil escape ....then the situation will clear in a few days..check your EO level to detemine the amount of EO lost...this will give you an idea how serious is the leakage/problem...

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

is there any other symptoms like high temperature?? does your bike has temp. gauge?? ta 150 has...lost of power?? abnormal smell like chow tar oil??

it is bad idea to over fill....when you said you use 1.2L of EO during change this could happen.

notice ah chong service only use 1L bottle only..

if over fill....dripping EO when you ride or oil patches where you park...

if sway sway...your crankshaft bearings can be damage too.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

if you are using car EO and your bike is old...leakages may happen..too.

ya it is best left to the expert to check it out..

if oil level is below Low level,..best do not ride...needs top up first and do not ride fast....

so u own 2 phantom? haha. i was tinking of selling my phantom and getting another 1. how does the insurance work?

are you hinting that you have no insurance and riding now?

??? the main concern is whether will it still start no matter is it connected or disconnect after a long period

hmm think about electronic devices whereby your batteries are left inside and you go back to using it after some time ;)

Insurance cannot be transferred between vehicles.

Sell your old bike, cancel the insurance & get a refund on the balance, then buy new insurance for your new bike.

Gaskets wear out. Your bike is telling you that it needs a gasket change.

Bring to shop to change:

1. Engine oil

2. Spark plugs

3. Air filter if required

Do not mention that it's your new ride or that you are a new rider (altho chances that your shiny new p plate will give you away is high) to minimise chopping. And then ride your bike around...fraternize with other bikers to get a general idea as to how your bike is doing compared to theirs. There are incredibly few problems a mechanic can spot by simply revving your bike and listening. There's no such thing as 'godly ears'.

EO then?

I let him do a change before long ago. Brought to him and he couldn't "diagnose" the problem

either you maintain the bike and change when required or bring to shop and risk getting cleavered and feeing orange all over you ;)

I like to keep my P plate on, then see what 'stunts' the mechs try to pull when telling me to change this and that

Strictly speaking, 2T for a 2-stroke bike IS the Engine Oil.

The EO you mention is actually for the transmission i.e. the gear oil.

gear oil...this is the description of my grand father will use...

2T..for my petrol,

4t for my engine...use this term everybody understamd..

gear oil..transmission Fluid. atf...some naive one might mixed up..

so 2t and 4 t...no confusion...until motor cycle dry clutch in voque...then another round of confusion
