Hmmm.

Does the average Phantom rider usually do the tyre-pumping theirselves?

Or like, just leave it to servicing?

Sorry ah, my qn's a nooberculum.

Also, when you go shop to do servicing, what happens?

Just say, "I want servicing" then the mech will do all necessary checks?

Or do we have to come with specific task(s) to be done?

I'll recommend that every rider check their tyre pressure weekly (max once every 2 weeks)

Riding on improper pressure increases fuel consumption & wears our your tyres faster.

Hmm.. i using metzler tyres and their recomended pressure is 210. I guess it's ok to pump a bit more for better millage and speed, but 250 is too much LA!!! :p

Hmmm.. mechanics say so then should be fine la :) personally i'll feel like too little grip  but seriously, no harm checking pressure often. Just check if you are not in rush, pumping petrol.

thanks!!

The part you are refering to is the exhaust header

First things first, all chrome parts on a bike (except those of the highest quality) will rust if you neglect it. The chrome on a phantom is Made-in-Thailand, not exactly top of the heap in terms of metal quality.

To keep it nice & shiny, you'll have to put in lots of effort to polish it using chrome polish (I'd reckon at least once a month). Also try to keep your bike dry, cover it when you park outdoors.

that's about all the care I lavished on my header & after 21months, its still shiny as day one!

:btw: if you inherited a 2nd hand bike with a discoloured exhaust.. it will be very difficult to restore the shine..

yes difficult. just look at mine, when i got the bike, the header was nearly totally rusted. now it's restored to at least 80% of its original shine.
