hey guys!

 

Do u guys have a weird sound coming out from ur exhaust everytime u off ur engine after riding for some time? isit normal for all phantom? i have a TA200 btw. it has been happening for quite sometime now. this weird sounds. hmmm.

The knocking sound is from the exhaust cooling off.

 

I think all vehicles have that noise..

Btw what size of the box do you guys install on your phantoms, E33 or E45? I would like a box tt can hold 2 helmets, but dun want the bulk hence hopingh the E33 can swallow em. Anyone knows the prices of the boxes roughly?

 

What about the racks for phantom? Are they expensive and can i use ranks meant for S4? :confused:

My E33 can only keep 1 helmet and some miscellaneous stuff like raincoat, parking coupons etc.

OH ya !! my phantom also haf weird sound ... Sometimes when im riding, suddenly will have a LOUD POP sound from the exhaust ... my friend sittin behind got a shock of his life... He thought my bike was gonna explode! LOL . . . but not everytime will have the POP sound . . .

Pop sound is because incorrect air and petrol mixutre. Correct me if i am wrong.

yup .. could be a backfire due to the wrong mixture ..

backfiring's not good for the engine ... :sweat:

velo, E33 and E45, might as well get E45 for function... The 'bulk' isnt really noticed as unaesthetic lah, youre riding a phantom.

 

as for Garcia10, the loud pop is backfiring, can fix it by sending to mech for tuning of the engine or replace this particular THING (i dont know what its called) under the petrol tank.

Guys, for the prob of difficulty kicking to neutral i think its due to the incompatibility of EO. When i 1st got my TA200 i had no probs whatsoever. My 1st EO change is fully syn(but forgot the brand).

A few weeks ago i had to go for another EO change. I decided to go for Maxima fully syn coz i read so many good reviews on it. Immediately after changing i experience difficulty in kicking to neutral when the bike is stationary. I believe the EO is too thin for my bike liao....thinking of changing to semi-syn next time...

ya is true.. the EO do affect the gear shifting....

 

below is cut and paste for the maxima EO review.. diff between thin and thick oil...

Choose a thicker oil if you rank engine and gear shift quietness as the top of your piority.

Choose a thinner oil if you rank responsiveness and cooler engine as the top of your priority.

About the backfire thing,

My valve has some clearance gap according to popular mechanic we often visit and said this is the cause of the "tak tak" sound. Beacuse the valve clearance cause it to hit the body. Imagine something is loose, when it retrieve back, it tends to hit back it's own body and loose sound produce. He said it's not the lifter tensioner problem for my case.

 

And could this gap causes the back firing? I haven't ask the mechanic. My TA200 has been giving me this loud pop sound about once a day, maybe in every two days one time. Especially when you are crusing say 90km/h and then you close throttle slowly, then "pop". like explosion.

For TA200, I change my EO every 2000km (so you calculate by seeing the mileage lah).

 

As advised by my friend last time, its best to change EO & spark plug when you 1st take the bike. If mechanic good, maybe you can ask him to check the rest of the fluid for you & do a top-up if necessary, normally foc

The servicing did wonders to my bike, the problems that i had were all gone (fingers crossed). Now i really believe in regular servicing of the bike. Take care of your bike :D

Dear knights,

 

Got a question. My TA200 turn signal lights is slow in lighting up by around 1 second after I switch it on. This usually happens when my bike has only travelled a short distance. Is this common among you all? How should I fix it?

hi guys,

wanna check out for the engine chassis.. it is able to spray/paint it black? like some super4 their engine chassis is black...

 

cos my brought second hand then the chassis like got those "crack" stain... but is not a crack sign... and have no idea how to get rid of it..

 

so decided to make it black inorder to suit the frame of the bike which is black..

Hi fellow rider, i lost my original C4 key once also. I've asked the shop beside AH BOY he quote me $11 for both my box and bike key, not sure whether original. I happen to go JUSCO in malaysia one day and made a spare for my bike and box for only 12RM from the shop that sells a lot of door knobs. the bike key looks exactly the same as the original in both looks and size. u can try one of them.

hi anyone know what is the bolt nut size for the three nut that secure the seat for ta200?

 

cos need to buy the tools but dunno the size and scare buy the wrong size for the nut. thanks
